Curb Rash

Does anyone know how to fix curb rash on my 07 tl? All four wheels have some and even thought it is not severe, I would like to get them fix somehow. The rims are otherwise in good shape. (Stock rims)

Prob need to find a shop to refinish them. Discount Tire ususally has a place they send them off to. or hit up your local car groups to find a local business that does it.

Most car dealers have guys who do this. Maybe they can refer you. Takes an hour or so depending on how many wheels need help.

Since they're the stock wheels, you could always try doing it yourself.

Wow guys thanks for the advice!! This is a project I will definitely tackle. Now I am pondering if I should postpone it the next spring as I live in the north and with snow and ice coming my way. I will probably do it in the spring and enjoy my nice rims for summer 2011!! Thanks again!!

to prevent future rashings on your rims, consider reading this article about wider tires.

Or change your driving habits lol ... I have never curbed a wheel in 50 years of driving .. Dad taught me to put dwn a pop can and try running along side of it till you knock it over .. do both sides and you get a feel for where your wheels are.

Curb Rash

I have the same problem and have cleaned the rash up but have had no luck in finding the paint color code.
Anyone help on 08 Tl base wheel color code?

Thanks, Kevin

Since this forum is not letting me start a new thread for some unknown reason today, I am putting this here. Today I used the manual setting while driving my TL ( a lot of fun by the way) and I noticed the fuel comsuption was much more than using the automatic. I think I will eventually get used to the manual shifting so that I can get as close as possible to the fuel economy of the auto. What do you guys think?

By the way, most of the curb rash on my TL was caused by the previous owner, I only curbed one rim in the back and it is minor damage. The car is nearly perfect except for two of the rims having moderate curb rash. Honestly I didnt notice it that much until I brought the car home, nothing I can't live with since the rest of the car is very clean. It's an 07 with 51,600 miles when I bought it two months ago. I drive about 70 miles a day so the miles are piling up very quick LOL!!
