Cost for A-Spec suspension install?

Does anyone know? I am going out of town on work for a few weeks and should have a very very nice check when I return.

Easy to do yourself, but if you can't, don't pay more than $150.

I paid $400 to get this done. I over paid. I didn't DIY because it was cold out and I didn't feel like dealing with the back seat...

Let me tell you, that back seat, isn't bad AT ALL! And then I realized how easy it really was, I'm kicking myself in the ass for wasting $400!!

I vaguely remember my dealer wanting $400. I wouldn't pay more than $200 if you don't DIY. But there are a lot of Atlanta guys here, I'm sure you could get one of them to give you a hand for lunch and a few beers.

Thanks for the responses. I've got to start modding this thing. Stock is cool but..............well you guys know what I mean. I suck at using the search feature and couldn't find a DIY guide when using it. Are there any DIY guides for this on the forums?

yea there's DIY guide in the 3G garage. it's the acura tl manual instruction book. basically, the a-spec suspension istall is the same as installing/removing the stock suspension. all u do is unbolt the stock suspension and bolt in the a-spec. it'll take u some time if it's your first time doing it and will go pretty fast if u've done it before.

cost varies depending on where u live. there are probably more custom shops in socal than anywhere else in the usa so it's cheaper here. a fair price is $200 or less. in socal there are custom shops that will do it for $150, but that's the lowest i've ever seen.

Easy install? Where is the best place/price for the A-Spec suspension/coil-overs?

What is the real amout the A-Spec lowers the car, I have read so many opinions?

Is it 3/4".

I had Eibach Pro springs put on my 07 TL-S and did NOT like the ride when I hit big bumps. What is the BEST way to lower a 2006 TL about 1" and keep a nice controlled ride??? I don't mind it being a little firmer, just not so BAD on RR track crossing or pot holes. When I got just the Eibach springs I should have gotten shocks also.

So what would you buy if you wanted to lower a 2006 TL about 3/4"-1" ?

Thankyou. Sorry for the Hi-Jack.

- Easy for an experienced shop. DIY Install is not bad, but the rear seat can be a PITA. Also salt/rust losked nuts/bolts make air tools the way to go if you can. Figure 4 hours shop time if you've got a good idea of what you're doing; 6 hrs if you don't.

- Best place to get A-Spec (price-wise) is probably E-bay or the Black Market here.

- 0.75" is the advertisment; I haven't ever seen anybody complain about it being off by enough to complain about.

- A-Spec is stiffer than the TL-S stock by all accounts; As you know the TL-S stock is no joy over rough/wash-board roads. Don't expect better with A-Spec or any after market performance spring. You might have look at drop and spring rates on the Tanabe NF series.

- Eibach Springs or A-Spec Coil-Overs; depends how much you want to spend.

- You're Welcome.

I installed an A-spec kit on my Type S last week and total install time was 3 1/2 hours. I had my son helping me so it went a little faster. The rear seat can be a PITA, but I read a few tips on this forum and it went smooth.

Look on eBay for the suspension. I bought mine from a Canadain dealer for $500 +$75 for shipping and also received $150 microsoft cashback a few months ago. Not a bad deal for $425.

My total drop was closer to 11/16" immediately after installation.

The A-Spec suspension is firmer then stock, but I wouldn't call it harsher. I don't have many rough roads in South Fl, so I couldn't provide you any additional on the effect from "rough/wash-board roads." The car is flater in the corners with less roll and seems to put down the power better.

I am still on a fence deciding between A-Spec shocks/coils and Tein SS. I would like my car around 1-1.25" lower, about the same as Eibach Pro coils did on my 07 TL-S. I just hated the ride with just the Eibach springs, I said I would never lower a car after that. But after just buying a cert 2006 WDP TL manual I want it a little lower, my A-Spec body kit is being installed tomorrow morning.

A-Spec or Tein SS ??? or Eibach/Koni yellows ???
