Control Arm compliance bushing Failure.

Hello all, I'm new to this forum and I wish I had joined before I bought this 2006 TL. The first mistake I made was I did not have the car looked at by a reputable mechanic before I purchased it. After driving it for a week or so I noticed that there was a "Clunking" noise over bumps in the left front. I put the car on a friends hoist to investigate and inspect the suspension. What I found was the left front Compliance bushing had failed, this allowed the lower control arm to drop and rub in the Sub-Frame, the control arm wore a hole 3/4 of the way around the bolt hole. So I had to replace the Sub-Frame, rebuild both control arms, Discovered the Rack was leaking, Replaced it, Found two motor mounts bad, and replaced the front brakes, and right side sway bar link. To my surprise, all the ball joints checked out OK and the rear did as well. I will keep you posted if anything else pops up.

Sounds about normal. I've owned my '04 6MT for 5.5 years. Bought it at 87k miles and it has 140k now. I've had to replace all LCA bushings including compliance, rack & pinion, all three motor mounts and all 4 rotors and pads. That was nearly a $2000 repair bill using OEM parts, and I got lucky because I pay less than $70/hr to my mechanic. Always get vehicles checked out before you buy

Yes, The timing belt, water pump and idler and tensioner have been replaced as well. also the A/C compressor was locked up and the bearing failed in the pulley, So a complete A/C system had to be gone threw. New Compressor, Expansion valve, and drier plus a complete flush of the system. The navigation system doesn't work, the navigation module in the trunk has been taken apart and the disc is missing. Mobil 1 oil changes only. What I would like to do is change/ flush the trans fluid. The fluid in the trans is black and smells. It shifts good with no slippage.
