Continental PureContact Tires

Hey guys,

I have an 06' TL with almost 60,000K miles. I'm now in the market for new tires. I currently have the stock type-s michelin tires. I was recommended by a friend to get the Continental Purecontact with EcoPlus Tires. I was wondering if any of you have any experience or knowledge on these tires, as I do not want to make an uninformed purchase.

Thanks!

Well I am looking for new Tires now too I have a thread from back in 2009 on the cont. extream DWS I have 85,000 on them and need to replace and am looking into this tire now. All I can say is it looks like an upgrade from the tires I have now and they have been fantastic! and rated to 70,000 miles which is a plus for me. Tire rack gives it a good rating.

Well the DWS are their performance tire. Generally a high tread wear rating = poor grip. Depends if you care more about rolling resistance and treadwear or ultimate grip.

it's the top rated grand touring tires according to consumer reports testing. looks like it will have similar wet and snow capabilites as the dws and longer treadlife. hopefully it wont have the same pulling to the right issues like the dws that i had. the only thing i dont like is that it has 1/16 less tread thickness vs the dws.

conti extreme contact DWS are great tires. 70k miles though? i ran through mine in half that, but then i do lots of aggressive driving so that makes sense. they are especially great in the rain.

I always take consumers reports reviews with a boatload of salt. They have very different considerations than an auto enthusiast.

I don't drive aggressively at all... had a set of the Continental DWS tires installed about a month ago and noticed an immediate improvement in quietness and ride quality, and my first experience driving them in snow the other day was very favorable. All around good tire IMO but we'll see how well they wear over time.

Just FYI , while I was tire shopping this morn I found these wheels on clearance up to half price, depending on size at tire rack.
