Cons of having 7.5" wide wheels on a TL

I'm thinking about purchasing TSX Aspec wheels, which are 18x7.5 as opposed to the TL Aspec wheels which are 18x8.5. What are the cons of having a narrower tire?

Nothing that you would notice really. I haven't had any issues. It looks skinny. As long as the rubber is good you'll be fine. I haven't had any additional torque steer. I drive an 04 6MT too. Make sure your alignment isn't off or it'll be crazy at WOT. If you run wider tires like 235's or 245's the sidewall flex is insane and feels scary as shit! Car bounces all over the place.

225 is the sweet spot but I haven't gone narrower than that.

Also I've noticed with more aggressive cornering the suspension needs more negative camber through the lock to properly utilize the contact patch. In other words more positive caster so it rolls onto the flat part of the tire and doesn't scrub the edges. But that's getting very aggressive.

Just an FYI, those 7.5" A-specs won't clear your Brembos.

so, you're running into negative and more negative points against the 7.5mm wide aspecs and you still want them?

to add another negative point, it will look sunken in.

that's three or more points against the 7.5mm wide aspecs....
and I dont see any pros....
choose another wheel

the only time, I would buy them is if they were $250 with tires.

True, for the right price I might buy em. But keep in mind good spacers are not cheap. Especially H&R's.

Not worth it IMO. Do it right the first time and save yourself a headache.

For the right wheel it may be. I got a forged set of Volk which I got for a steal and fell in love with so spacers were a minor investment. However if you are planning it correctly then just find the right offset.
