I have an 03 acura tl with tein coilovers and i just bent the strut i called tein and they dont have that strut in stock and it is specail order and costs 280$ and also takes 2-3 months to arrive from japan...... so what i am wondering is if there is another strut i could replace this one with that can handle the coilover. all help appreciated thanks

 

The whole shock assembly would have to be replaced.

Is it possible to replace that one unit with something else? Yes. Not sure how that will affect the ride or handling of the car though. If you do it, try to find one that is as similar to the Tein as possible (i.e. spring rate, valving, etc.)

How did u bend your strut?

 

i put it up on the rack today and took a look at it myself and the strut has a veryslight tweak in it nothing to crazy so i am replacing the lower control arm and ball joints but i am going to leave the strut in for now and see if it has a effect on the handling.

 

I was coming off an exit and another car decided to come into my lane and it was either hit her or the curb so i picked the curb haha but i hit it almost head on probably going 25 when i hit it so it bent the control arm stabalizer bar and the trailing arm. also shot the rim but i have an old set of tsx wheels i will throw on

 

Next time hit her and have her pay for it.
