Bump Steer...?

So i've been trying to tackle this problem for a while now. I'm lowered on Tein SS coilovers, roughly 2" (tucking about a finger) and running 19x9 wheels with 245 tires all around.

The problem...

*ANY* Imperfection in the road, and my steering wheel goes nuts...if I don't have a firm grip on it, the steering wheel will literally move itself left or right...esp slowing down a hill, bumps etc..

I had my allignment done about a month ago, and the car felt solid for about 3-4 days after, then it gradually went back to its old dirty habits. The front tires have uneven wear from the slight neg. camber, however both left and right are about the same and have been rotated. Any advice? I'm guessing I need a camber kit....just wondering if anyone else experienced the same thing...

I don't know what my friend does when he aligns my car, but when they got a new hunter machine in he let me do my own alignment, I completely fucked it up and my steering wheel was twisted

then he fixed it and my steering wheel was not only twisted but he made it slightly stiffer... as you know the 07+ steering is very tight... I love it... there must be something either stripped or lose if you really almost lose it on minor imperfections and bumps... I say take it back to them, too soon for the alignment to go out of wack with the same wheels...

I think it is tire choice. My car does the same damn thing on my crap Yoko ES100s. When I switch to my stockies in the winter the car steers perfect. I noticed other people with my same rims running different types of tires don't have the same problem. I had an alignment done 2 wks. ago with 0% change.

lol stillhere about doing your own alignment. I watched as my cousin did mine. Damn those machines have come a long way! Fully guided with all kinds of vehicle specific info. It looked easy as pie, a kid could do it!

The 452's might not be the best tires, but they're far from crap. I doubt thats whats causing the problem...I just need to find a legit place in MD/NOVA to have my allignment done...

it could be the toe... make sure that you have it close to 0 if possible, my car used to wobble a lot on bumps, but fixing the toe fixed my problems

If it's fine right after an alignment and slowly goes back to it's old ways, it's obviously losing alignment. The TL seems very sensitive and mine has gone out of alignment from one moderate pothole. It could also be that some of your suspension components are wearing and once that happens it will quickly lose alignment. Add stiff suspension and wider tires and alignment becomes more critical.

What exactly does it do?

Excessive toe-out makes it feel darty and unstable but steering does feel pretty sharp.

Toe-in makesit feel unresponsive but stable.

Caster is what makes the steering wheel want to straighten itself out when you let go in a turn. It can have a big effect on torque steer in a FWD car.

Everyone knows about Camber.
