Brake question

I have been wondering, are there any brake issues with the TL? I am referring to premature wear like the G35, they are getting only about 15-20k out of the front brakes. That is pretty short life IMO.

I have 13K+ miles on my 04 Auto TL (non Brembo brakes). I can hardly tell if worn at all,, IE - remaining pad "thickness" etc.

--Now, like everything else this would depend heavily on your driving style. My TL see's mostly highway traffic thus not much stop and go.... And I normally drive like a Grandma.....

I do about 90% city miles and have about 12K on my car so far. The front pads still have plenty of meat on them. I am not a hard braker but the nature of my driving requires their constant use. I expect to get about 40-50K out of them. That's about what I got out of the OEM brake on my 97 Camry. However, I do have a slight shimmy in the car while braking at highway speeds down to about 30mph. I am going to the dealer this Thursday to see what they think. It might be a mildly warped rotor. I didn't have any vibrations in the pedal or the wheel so I am confused.

I just took my "07 TL-S into dealer for a rattle from the front end. Front Brembos were totally gone at 67K miles (with little warning)! The dealer was equally surprised that I got such long life from them. They usually only last 30K according to them.

My '01 CL still had the original brakes at 160K.
I realize that most of my miles are freeway, but this kind of life was totally unexpected. I am planning a rotor/disc upgrade to aftermarket before needing brakes again.

The 6mt and TL-S Brembos wear out very fast, many times <20K. The 5at brakes wear exceptionally long. Several on here are well past 100K. I'm at 85,000 and they look to have over 1/2 of the pad left.

My 1st set of Brembos lasted me 27k.
