best tires for drag racing?

i know there are a lot of threads on tires. and yes i have searched and read many posts. but i still want to get some opinions. i have 20x7.5" rims right now with 225/35 tires but i plan on selling them and going with a racing setup.

so im thinking going with 18"s bfgoodrich g-force r1 tires or something along those lines. any suggestions?

and i want to stick with black rims w/ chrome lip any suggestions on racing rims with those specifications?

yeah- if you want to win you need dedicated race tires,, with little to no tread and just ~the sticky~ left in them~

do a weight comparison on different rims- the internet can provide all that info
Drop by a local race shop and see whats on their race rims

ask I Hate Cars or Micheal Benz- those guys really know the TL at its limits and how to get there

I agree with having a dedicated set of race tires.

Also, I'm not sure how great you'll do racing on 18"+ rims, even if they do have sticky tires. Too heavy...

Before my TL, I had a integra GSR with 17" rims for daily and I used drag slicks on the OEM 6-twist when I raced on the track.

At one point I used drag radials on the 6-twist but they were too hard on the axles.

find some good 16s--less mass is better for what you are doing

hmmm 16's huh? well ok maybe i went overboard when i said drag racing tires. what i really meant is what tires i should get that are good for the street and have good grip for 60feet times on the track. are the bfg r1s good for street aswell as track?

How many miles are those good for daily driven? Those look pretty sticky, so I'm sure you won't get many which means buying tires more often than you would probably want.

And then you have to consider inclement weather, you could be hydroplaning all over the place!

I still say get you some good BFGs like the T/A KDWs for daily driving and then load up two 15s or 16s with R1s, T/A Drag radials, or even slicks and use those on the track.
