Question Best Lowering Springs

What brand offers the best quility on our TL's. I'm looking for the best ride comfort and the best look. Hoping to acheive a 1" drop front a rear. Have any of you experienced any problems with lowering the car. Thanks ahead of time!

Aspec all the way. 1" drop in the back .. 1" in the front .. excelllent ride quality/comfort -- looks pretty darn good to me.

i thought aspec was only about 1/2" drop. if you're just looking for springs, eibach & comptech are the best choices. they both have 1" drop front & rear.

i couldn't decide what i wanted for the longest time, and was torn between tein coilovers, aspec coilovers, and h&r springs. well, i figured i'll just wait for other coilovers, and am going with h&r springs for now. it's 1.4" f 1.3" rear drop.

Is the comptech a good ride quility? How much do you think I'll pay?

Comptech's are $200 ... plus or minus $10.00 (www.comptechusa.com)

Install is about $200. The ride quality is more firm than the Aspec .. and not adjustable like the Tein SS series. The drop is 1 to 1.5" all around. However, the stock shocks may not last as long w/ those springs .. so that's why I went with the Aspec.

The drop in the rear of my Aspec TL is now 1" and the front is 0.75" .. still settling.

JR,

I installed my kit:

If the thread doesn't have all the details -- it was $630.00 total. If you do the Aspec, I'll help you out, I live in Naperville and Chicago.

JR .. if you're looking for a ride that has a nice drop, and a cush ride w/ very nice handling at the extremes .. the Aspec kit is the way to go -- plus you get the 2 year Acura warranty.

this may be asking a bit much but do you have side shots of before install, after install, and after settling?

i remembered your thread a while back, but do you have any current pictures after settling?

And it doesn't void your factory warranty.

aGenka ... it's a beautiful day in Chicago today -- I'll snap some pics and post them tomorrow

www.cardomain.com/id/peterubers has TONS of shots of my car before the springs

You'll see just as many shots post-springs tomorrow when i post them

(btw it's not asking too much, i think it'll help lots of people make this decision)

Hey Peterubers,

As you see I'm in the Buffalo Grove Arlington Heights Area. Not far from you at all. I think you just sold me on the A-Spec kit. I need about a 1" drop to make my look complete but I don't want the comfort to dissappear. How much would you charge to install my kit if I came to you? If you're willing of coarse. Do you have a lift or just a garage you do all your work. I'd be awfully scared to take it to an Acura dealership with my new rims. I'd be afraid they scratch them.

J Ride ... I wouldn't charge you anything -- just provide some cold beers and we have a deal.

I have jack stands and a floor jack - - PM me for detals. I have a month and 1/2 in which time I have plenty of time to help you out -- since my garage can be cluttered quite frequently, we may have to do it at your garage, i'd bring the tools w/ me. Lemme know -- oh and if we decide on doing in your garage, just cover my gas $$ and we're set.

I heard only good things about H&R i just purchased the Sport springs today, drops the car 1.4 in front and 1.3 rear. Compared to tein s-tech 1.2 front and 1.3 rear, plus i believe H&R is better quality merchandise

From my experience, Tein is making great products for our 3rd gen TL and the current gen accord. I ordered the Tein S-Tech Springs, if you are considering going with 19 inch wheels and want to be able to fit a 245 or 235 series tire, I would suggest not going any lower than the S-techs or H&R's. I really felt that for $109.99 S-Tech is the best overall value/performance spring on the market. Just get a comptech rear sway bar, and handling with the springs will be amazing.

I think I'm pretty decided on the A-Spec kit. Yeah it is more expensive but I really hope that I'll get the drop I want. Thanks to PeterUbers, he mentioned some very good points. I'm looking forward to working with him as well.
