This topic has probably been covered 20x but I recently put on Continental Extreme Contact DWS tires and they have handled just fine in the snow here in North Carolina. The sidewalls aren't the stiffest but I don't plan on tracking the car or anything of that nature. They give a quiet ride and serve their purpose in all types of weather.

Make it so
The two that you'll hear most often if you ask on this forum (from people's experiences) are:
1. Continental Extreme Contact DWS
2. Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3
I can personally vouch for the DWS tires- that's what I've always had on my TL, and they have worked great. Definitely a big, big fan, and a lot of people swear by them.
The Michelins are pretty new to the scene- a lot of people started talking about them this past year, and the few that I've read tried them had good things to say. They're definitely worth a look.

35M miles says it all.... DWS FTMFW
Will have to keep an eye on the new Hankook, but like the Michelins, I suspect they will fall in the rankings as they rack up more miles...

I like the DWS-I've used them for a few years now.
