Bent my rim

Bent my rim
I was driving on the BQE today going about 50mph and hit a pothole. Right after hitting the pothole, I felt the steering wheel vibrating a little. I got home and looked at my rim and see that the inside part of the wheel has a flatspot. This is the passenger side front wheel. I'm not sure if the passenger side rear wheel is bent or not. If it's just the rear wheel that's bent, will the steering wheel still have vibrations? Maybe I can move the front to back and vice versa?
I'll probably buy a new wheel.
Is there anyway I can make the city pay for this? This pothole was in the middle lane and I couldn't avoid it because there were other cars around me.
If I can make the city pay for it, how would I go about it?

I was driving south (west)-bound on BQE from LIE. That road condition is one of the worst in the city so far. Where did you hit that? Will you able to show us pics in the morning? With pics, ppl may come out some better ideas. IMO.

This was right after you pass the exit that you take to go to 8th Ave Brooklyn. Going towards SI. The pothole was in the middle lane.
I don't have any pics of the pothole, but I do have some pics of the bent wheel.

I just got home from NJ. Driving on the turnpike doing 70mph and up, the steering wheel vibrates really badly. Doing 40mph or higher on some roads I can feel the vibration. Some roads I don't feel the vibration if i'm going 35mph or slower.
If I replace the the bent wheel, the vibration should go away right? I ordered a new wheel and tire. Since 3 of the tires have about 1K-1.8K miles on them and if the passenger side front tire is new, will this cause a problem? I'm gonna get the bent wheel repaired and use it as a back up.
If the rear wheel is bent, will the steering wheel vibrate?
Will I be able to file a claim and have the city reimburse me?

I forgot to tell the tire store which side of the car I need the wheels/tires for. Now i'm waiting for the UPS to show up so I can find out if it's mounted for the correct side.
Which side do they usually mount on if you don't let them know? How fast can they dismount the tires and mount it?

Well the tires were mounted for the left side of the car. I needed it for the right side of the car.
If the rear wheels are bent would you be able to feel it?
Is it possible to bent the wheels on a pot hole and not damage the suspension?

OK - I'm freaked by this. I hit a pothole, replaced my rim and tire. I've been feeling a bit of vibration since but have been attributing it to the various roads since sometimes there is no vibration (esp. on local roads, I'm fine). So I have chalked it up to imagination.
Could the suspension get damaged, what would be the symptoms, and (gulp) what would be the fix??

Well that's reassuring, in a weird sort of way ... I'll go back to the dealership and give it a try - post my experience later ... thanks.
