Backspacing for 19" MRR HR2

I want to buy a set of MRR HR2 rims for my 08 tl base coupe. I would like to lower it a litte also. I have looked over the forum and called a few places. I'm not seeing a consistant answer for the proper offset. I'm being told 35 and 45mm. Whats right? I would like to run 235's in the front and maybe a 255 in the rear.

Base coupe? Go with 19x8.5 + 35 all around.

I just got off the phone with mmr and there out of stock on 35 mm offsets and don't know when they'll get them back in. Would a 45 still look ok?

a +45 will look pretty weak... meaning sunken in if you go +45 then get some 15mm spacers ... however that just adds to the cost of the set up... id just find something else unless you really really really love those rims for some reason

^ also if you are running the same size rim front and back do NOT stagger your tire sizes just run 235/35/19 all the way around... only stagger tires if you are getting wider rims in the rear than in the front.

I see some people jump to a 245 instead of the 235. I would like a little wider tire than I have now but I'm not sure of the pros and cons.

I can't seem to find the 35mm offset in stock and the manufacurer is out for a few months. I can get 2 in 35mm and there are plenty available in 45mm. Could I do 45mm with a 245 tire in the rear and 35mm with a 235 in the front?

no the offset means just how far in or out the rim is from the car.... i wouldnt run a staggered tire on a TL unless you are going with a staggered rim set up meaning like a 8.5" front rim and a 9.5" rear rim then yes you can and should run a wider tire in the rear....

but from what i am reading you are just getting the same width rims just asking about the offsets... 35mm and 45mm if you want these rims either wait for the 35mm or just settle and get the 45mm offsets and then you can add spacers if you want the rims to sit more flush with the fenders or leave as it stands
