Axis Hiro's on 07 MRP TLS

After many trials and tribulations and long waits...I finally got the call. My Hiros and Tires got mounted last night.

I know, I know....BUT I have no plans to drop the car, too much snow around here!

Wheel Specs: Axis Hiro Hyper Silver 18X8.5
Tire Specs: Yokohama Advan S4 (UHPAS) 245/40/18

This is the only pic I took....it was dark outside when I got home and and pouring rain this morning so had to shoot this in the garage. Will take some more soon!

Thanks guys, much appreciated.

I paid $2100 OTD including TPMS, Locking nuts,, Hunter Road Force balancing. Very happy with the ride...much smoother & quieter than OEM Michelins.

Drop it!!, I know we have some snow in Chicago but You will be OK. I have A-spec suspension on my RL and don't have any problems in winter. Very nice job with wheels and tires. BTW I have same Yokohama tires and love them.

That turned out very nice...I've been having an internal conflict between the A-Specs and the Axis Hiros at some point in the future for my Antracite '06. I really like how the Axis wheels look on your car. Congrats!

I think it looks very nice. It has a very clean look, and I don't think you need the drop. It is low enough. I think the type S wheels look better with my color CBP, than MRP. I like the nice upgrade.

Very nice looking, I like the silver Hiros on your MRP TLS. Here's mine with 19"s, of course non TypeS though...

I SO agree that the right 18's can look ok on the car. The pics I took SUCK, will get the car clean and take some soon that look better. I just knew the MRP needed a tiny bit of bling to make the car look good.

Nope...can't see doing it. I lowered my last car 1" and it became a snowplow. I had to repaint my front bumper twice. I have to drive on uplowed road many times a year...just aint gonna tempt fate again.

Also agree completely about how great the OEM wheels look with some colors (ESPECIALLY CBP and Silver)..but on the MRP they just sort of made the car look drab.

Thanks Rocket! I LOVE the Hiros in Gunmetal on your car....look sooooo goood! Yours is one of the best looking, most tasteful combinations there is. We both seem to have excellent taste! LOL.

IMO...the Hiro's are one of the bests deals in wheels on the market for our cars. (SSSSHHHH...don't tell anyone or they'll all get 'em).

Those are some nice looking wheels! How much do those wheels weigh? I was looking for some lighter wheels.

Meant to ask before - did you have to use straps for the TPMS sensors, or were the Axis wheels already set up for the sensors to be inserted on the valve stem?

I'm very happy you finally got a great looking set of wheels

They look great in 18" and that color. Perfect for what you wanted.

Did you get the entire package in Chicago? May I ask where. Or did you

order the wheels and take them somewhere. I agree about the stock wheels

and only a few body colors that they look good with.

Great Choice

Thanks JD!

Got 'em at Discount Tire in Elgin. They will price-match any online guys, so it was easier to deal locally.

Agreed !.... dropping it would defintely not be good ... the premature wear of the inner tires from negative camber isn't a good thing either!...Iv'e had much expericence with lowered car's ......the new rim's look great congrat's!

Thanks everyone for chiming in...and for all the props. Much appreciated.

I know AZINE members almost all believe in dropping these cars. I have to admit, I do love the look of a nice 1.5" lowered TL.
But the practical side of me just won't let me do it... I just shelled out over 35K for this car...and do not want to scrape it up in front like I did my last car. Nor do I want to mess with the warrantee in any way. Nor do I want a harsher ride (c'mon guys...I'm an old man! Actually it's my wife, who already complains how hard the TLS rides...not going to make it ride harder since this is our 'long ride' car.)
If we didn't live in the snow belt, I'd consider it. But hell if we lived in the south, I'd have bought a RWD car (I love the CTS-V and the G37) and lowered THAT. But this climate is just too nasty in winters, and this is my year round driver.

In fact, I just ordered another 'old man' accesory from Acura...painted splash guards because these Hiros protrude out a bit more from the axles, and I can envision all the salt punching holes in my side skirts because of the added width.
