aspec or H&R

aspec or H&R
Hey guys help me. I'm trying to decide on either going with the aspec kit or H&R springs with tokicos or konis. I know that H&R's will lower it more and konis/tokicos are firmer. But will the handling be so much better to warrant the extra $$$$. I'm not going to race, just want to improve handling on the street.

That's a tough call.
The a-spec/Koni combo is really nice. I'm pretty conservative and I don't like to give up much ride comfort. The a-spec to me is a very good compromise in comfort but with a noticable improvement in handling and control. For a DD I wouldn't want it any stiffer. Right now people who ride in the car don't notice it's on aftermarket suspension so that's a win for me.
Besides just firming it up, it takes some of the understeer away as well which is nice. It's far from a track spring but it's good for a DD.

Whichever spring that you go with, I'd stick with the Konis for shocks. Adjustable damping is so nice even though you think you'll just initially set it and forget it....you'll find yourself playing with settings to get that perfect ride. I find that I'm adjusting from Fall/Winter to Spring/Summer since temps have an effect on rebound, I've backed off to 2/3 of a turn from full soft...perfect compliment to my Eibachs.

I've done the same thing. It takes a good half turn or more to compensate for cold vs hot. It was interesting that it required nearly full soft on stock springs and over 2/3s firm for the aspec + H&R 28mm FSB combo for the same amout of damping. At that setting on stock suspension they felt excessively firm.
