The S-Techs ride really nicely! My Mom nor my girlfriend could tell the difference when I had them put on. When going over a bump, I feel like the springs give more leeway for the car to move up and then back down. It's hard to explain, but it's not a complaint, just an observation.

Check out my build thread for more pictures! Here's a link: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-photograph-gallery-96/cltothetl32-my-asparasocks-bs-thread-773269/

Yeah I did get them mounted. I don't think I would be able to handle the TPMS warning light coming on every time you start the car.

I just upgraded my computer last night, so I have to re-install Photoshop, so I can get to it later on tonight. In the meantime, can you dig up a picture of a NBP TL in a similar angle to the ones I previously photoshopped? (That would save a lot of time )

I have the same wheels but in 18". In the pictures I do not have any inserts on. The shop broke three TPMS sensors when transfering from my stock wheels,so they bought me three new sensors. I was surprised the wheels did not come with wheel locks. They have been on for about two weeks now and I love them.I do get lots more compliments about my car too.

That's good they bought you new ones, but how the hell did they break your original ones? Were they clumsy or something? When I have my tires worked on, the shop always starts at the opposite end from where the sensors are, so they never even get close to touching the sensors...

They said the sensors were corroded and snapped apart when trying to remove. You can either transfer the factory sensors to your new rims or buy a new set of TPMS sensors for your new rims. When replacing tires the sensors should never need to be touched except for putting air in.Hope this helps.

hey thanks so much for posting these pics... it looks great on your car! was wondering though... tire rack only has them left with the black accents, rather than the anthracite acents... which is yours? i can't really tell from the picture... the only difference is the colour inside the lip of the rim right?

btw, just wanting your opinion... there's a small part of me that wants to get the 17's. i hear the 18's and 19's are noticeably heavier than the stocks. what's your experience with them been like?

I got the ones with balck accents(the inside wheel is black in color with a silver lip).I purchased mine through sears and got an extra 10% on a special sunday. Don't do 17's because it may look like smaller wheels. I noticed a little more stopping power is needed and some power loss. All the more reason to get an exhaust system. If you are conserned about weight tirerack list the weight for each of their wheels and tires,so compare the weight against other wheels.

Sears in saint louis missouri, they should be the same price at any sears in the counrty. I paid $1184 for a 235/40/18 Falken Ze912 tire with road hazard and the wheels. The tires were buy 3 and get 1 free. discounttiredirect.com is a good place to look also.

Im trying to get them for S/C Convertible Solara from TireRack, but there is a backorder/delay for 2 months. I wanted the Anthracite but they only had the black accents though. Can Sears online do it? That is a good price. Im getting 18x8's with Michelin Pilot Sports 225/45/18's. The whole package is over 1700 bux.\

If you didn't already know, ASA started up partnered with BBS. And they use most of the same machinery, technology, & construction methods on their wheels. They are outstanding wheels, especially for the price. Matter of fact, they are licensed from BBS.

I have the ASA AR2 V2 in 18's with low-pro's: 215/40/18 Nitto Neo Gens. Drove on them the past Summer with my old car dropped & no problems, I recently just thew them on my TL .

yea they have a license from BBS to make replica BBS wheels. Or the same style of the wheel. A lot of VW people run them if they can't afford real BBS and people usually don't complain about them

Whatever wheel you buy ???

Make sure you get 19's. I have done 18's and wasnt satisfied. I thought more sidewall would be better. What mattered alot was the coilovers I installed-Tein SS

Not 17"

Not 18"

Not 20"

ONLY 19"

ASA all the way. I do not like the other wheel at all. The ASA looks pretty good for the low price. And Tirerack is AWESOME

Time for a change

One holes for the bolts that hold the inserts in somehow got stripped. So everytime I want to change them out I have to put some silicon in on the treads to hold it in temporary. Any ideas on how to fix that? Maybe put epoxy in the hole, wrap tape around the bolt so I can remove it later and that will somehow create a better thread.

After 2 years of these wheels I'm bored with them and wish I got 19's. I looked at getting a different set of rims completely until I saw how much tires will cost. I am planning on painting the spokes and center cap all black. Here are some photo shops of what it can look like.

Painting

I did this back in May-June 2012,decided to try plasti-dip. With all the edges I had with a combination of waiting too long to take the tape off messed up the plasti-dip which is not as easy as it looks to peel off especially in overspray areas. Tried power washing even. Ended up sanding it all down again.

From day one they were scratched when putting on around the lug nut areas. The paint did not have time to cure either since I was in a rush to finish the wheels, get them mounted and then get to the Acurazine meet in Kansas.

Here is the failed Plasti Dip being pulled off.

Started as a thin pin stripe I had in my trunk during the Acurazine meet and decided to throw it on. Next came a wider stripe. I redid my ACURA letters up front by cutting them out of reflective tape and thought it would look cool lighting up the wheels. Eventually cut stripes of reflective tape into two lengths per wheel overlapping.

And of course changing spokes.

Eventually I added red As(for acura) in the center caps.

Goodbye ASA AR19s

Then guess what happened?... Driving home late at night last week when a deer ran out in front of me. I went left tried to correct but the wheel kept left ,hit a 5-6inch curb at 40-50MPH. " Kaaapopp" went the two front wheels as I went ontop the side walk into a yard. My radar fell, water spilled, and a lot of warning lights came on.
Somehow I did a 180 and was facing the road again stuck in the grass. I put it into Low gear and jumped back onto the road. Didn't know the extend of the damage and the adrenaline or shock of being in a accident was pumping in me so I drove it a mile home. Horrible smells, bad woobles, and clanking metal is all I heard. When I made it home I made sure all my underglow lights worked and felt hope.
The next day I swapped the rims out for my winter wheels. I was expecting to break studs when taking them off but only loud creaks and a few pops that I thought were breaks.Found the right front had 1/3 of the inside left. When it broke a piece cut a brake sensor wire. Was able to fix that and my dash warning lights went away.

Left Front

Right Front

Was later told by a shop this was the ABS sensor cable.

The trunk must have been jolted enough to chip the edges.

Shop I took it to said only a few scratches but they could not fit their alignment tool on my wheels for some reason. So I am taking it to where I got the tires for an alignment since I feel it pulling a little. Also going to see which if any of the tires can be reused.

Wow, sorry to see. I'm glad you're alright!

No offense but I hope you find a better set of replacement wheels

Was able to save 2 rear tires so looks like next wheels are going to be 18's unless someone can talk me into 20's.I'm open to ideas for new rims and have the spokes & center caps for sale off my busted rims https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...7#post14165487

not a huge fan.

i had a set of ASA AR7 wheels and they were heavy as a mother. those arent my style but i think for the $ you can do better.

I think i'd rather have XXR wheels. 530's are nice.
