Anyone Have 19" Akita Racing AK-1 Wheels?
I have been strongly considering these 19 X 8 wheels for my '04 TL 6-speed. My POS stock Bridgestones are worn out at 13K miles (yeah I don't drive a lot) so its time for an upgrade. If anyone sees a problem with this wheel's specifications as far as not fitting on the TL correctly please let me know. Also, I understand I should expect the ride to be "rougher" than the stock 17" wheels....for those of you with 19s is this a dramatic difference or fairly mild? Thanks.

"Take it, take it!!!"
depends on the tire, but for the most part you'll experience a difference in ride. i have tein SS, so the ride is already pretty stiff. just take it easy, especially in big cities and you should be ok.

Well, I was wondering why I was getting little reply to this post. I think I may understand better now. I went to order the Akita racing AK-1 wheel on Friday and it turns out its been discontinued in the 19X8. You would think the 5 or 6 internet wheel sites that had it posted with pricing would take it off their web page. I was really bummed when I couldn't put my hands on it because I kind of fell in love with this wheel over the past week. Anyway, I had called Element Wheels in Tuscon, AZ trying to obtain this wheel and the salesman kicked ass...he immediately went and looking for some 5 to 6 spoke wheels in my price range. One of the wheels he recommended and I now have ordered is a set of 19X8.5 Sturn ST-1 Hyper Silver with some 245/35 19 Nitto 555's wrapped around them. Love this look also. I saw one other TL with 20" Sturns ST-1s on them in the Wheels sticky page and I thought it looked pretty damn good.
This is my first upgrade of my stock 04' WDP 6-speed so I'm pretty excited. I'm also having my Acura dealership install the A-Spec underbody spoilers and trunk lip (overpriced but damn it looks good--I at least made my dealer match Acura of Escondido's price on the parts but I'm sure he makes it up in labor) as well as the comptech rear sway bar. Once I see the car on the new wheels I'll make the decision whether or not to get a suspension package to drop the car...likely an Eiback suspension kit. Anyway, just wanted to share my excitement guys and gals. I'll be sure and post some pics when it is all finished...should be 1 to 2 weeks.

those wheels are tight. should look pretty good. I have 20"s and the ride is not bad at all it is a little rough over bumps but that is to be expected. What was the price and labor on the a-spec kit.
