ANOTHER HT-Spec/F2 coilover issue.

so now in addition to my feedback in other posts about the multiple blown struts on my right front coilover, tonight I tried messing with the damping adjustment on the top of both fronts, and found that on BOTH front coilovers the adjustment is not working.
The right coilover has been confirmed as blown, and the damping adjustment spins freely both directions. I expected that.
The left coilover is supposedly fine, just looked at techs at local Acura dealership while they had it on the rack. The left damping adjustment will only turn clockwise, though, not counter-clockwise. It will turn clockwise indefinitely, it never hits bottom. If you try to turn it counter-clockwise it's completely stuck.
I don't remember if clockwise turns it stiffer or softer, but i think F2's setup is strange and turning it clockwise is 'LO'-->less stiff?
Any ideas as to what the problem is? Are BOTH front struts shot, or is this a mechanical issue/failure with the left coilover?
