Alignment Specs

If I remember correctly is there a rear alignment spec for the 3G model that is correct and it differs from your typical alignment shop specs? Seems I saw this awhile back. The reason I ask is my tires are maybe 1/2 worn and I always rotate them properly. I got an alignment several months ago as the tire shop said I was getting a little wear on one tire so I said sure. Well I noticed the tire was making a little noise but not bad and the shop said it would even out. Not long ago I got my tires rotated again and now the noise is worse. The back tire went to the front and I have a feeling they don't have the correct rear alignment spec and the rear tire that went to the front has cupped somewhat and I am hearing it and never heard this cupping noise before. Its driving me somewhat crazy. Has this happened to any of you? Thanks!

Any tire that has cupping, feathering, or uneven wear will be caused by a poor alignment or out of spec suspension components. This is discounting uneven wear due to incorrect air pressure, as high air pressures will cause a tire to wear more in the center, and conversely low air pressures will cause more wear on the outer and inner tread, or also the problem with rear alignment when heavy loads are frequently carried.

Rotating a tire that has uneven wear can cause added tire noise and can also create a balance/handling issue as the tire is wearing unevenly and the balance is compromised as well as the tire footprint. Once a tire is worn unevenly it will never even out.

The S/M Rear toe in 2mm +/-2mm, some use -.08/.05, but the local Acura Dealer uses .00/.30 degrees positive, no negative. Post, or list the final specs so that we can view the settings and issue replies.

I have no handling issues and my tire pressure is neither abnormally high or low or never has been. Occasionally it might get a little low as all tires do but never bad. I run 33 lbs as this gives me a decent ride and handles well. Tires are Pirelli PZero Nero A/S. I am going to drop it by the shop very soon and see what they have to say.

The noise I was hearing was due to a bolt in the tire. Dealer checked the alignment and said it was ok. I had a bolt in my tire several years ago and it sounded horrible. This one sounded like my tire was wearing uneven or cupping. Now car is much better.
