ACURA TL 2006 - Tire deal on eBay.

Hello Everyone,

I have a 2006 Base TL using standard factory installed wheels. I need to get tires and I found this great deal on eBay however eBay page says it is not compatible with my car. Is this an error on eBay's website?

235/45-17

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-NEW-235-45-17-GOODYEAR-EAGLE-F1-ASYMMETRIC-2-45R-R17-TIRES-30713-/311163051788?vxp=mtr&hash=item4872c35f0c
Looks like a good deal less than $300 for 4 tires.

I really wish I could get a taller tire like a 235/55 so the ride could be a little smoother. But it doesnt look like I can.

Thanks!

What am I missing here? The ad says 2 tires for $434.00

After you add 4 and factor in the rebates you're at $548

Tirerack has a great deal on this tire, I just bought 4, but you're definitely looking at only 2 tires in that ad.

These tires were fun, tread life was less than 20,000 miles for me though.

You are correct about that tire. What I meant was that the seller has good deals going on with the $100 off.

Anyway my real question is, can I install 234/50-R17 on my 2006 TL? Or even 55? I really need a smooth ride.

If you want a smooth ride, UHP tires are not the way to go. You probably should be looking at GT tires instead which generally give a slightly softer/smoother ride.

Currently enjoying some Pirelli GT tires now , still perform very well for spirited driving.

Agreed, but the Conti DW's are super quiet, even though they are a UHP tire. These Goodyears are OK, but nowhere near the Conti's.

Quiet isn't the same as soft/smooth. I had Michelin Pilot Sport AS+ that were quiet...but they were not soft and smooth. I have Michelin Primacy MXM4 now...they are soft, smooth, and quiet. Every person needs to define their requirements and priorities and then associate those against each tire to find the proper match for them.

For me, performance wasn't my #1 priority so I was willing to compromise and go back to a GT tire.

My preference order:
- quiet
- smooth
- MPG
- wear characterics
- winter handling
- dry/wet handling
- price

You're really trying to tell me about tires? If you only knew.

But the fact that you paid money for the Primacy leaves me out of every future conversation with you .

Hey now...they met my requirements. 10 years ago...I would have thought I was insane to have even looked at the MXM4s. Needs change...and my days of flogging my car on a regular basis are over and prefer a quieter and smoother ride these days.
