I don't know if you are lowered but if you lower it, and that negative camber comes into play, that +30 will be sunken more. So go with +25 and +20 back.

You're funny...

You: What's the right way to do this based on all your years and wasted time/money?
Us: Do it this way
You: Uh, no. I already know how I'm going to do it.
Us: Ok, we still love you, young jedi.

Hmmm...he must have had a private session with you. His are the only pics I don't see in the thread.

Ironically, Tyler wants to go lower and more aggressive...
But, whatever works for you!

Yeah it was in a PM, he showed me probably 7 pics with helpful close ups of the wheels and how they fit with the fender. His ride height seems pretty good to me, I don't want to go much lower than that.

Here's what I sent:

Keep in mind that my front tires are 245/40/18 with a +30 offset and my rear tires are 235/40/18 with a +25 offset.

Here's with no spacer on the back, just 18x8.5 +45...

With spacers back on...

I'm running about 1 degree of negative camber in the rear, almost 1.5 up front. TEIN S-Tech springs.

I believe you...

Actually, Tyler is the one that sent me a few closeup shots of his "gap" and helped me figure out which way to go with my sexuality too. He's one helpful dude!

Either way, +30 is plenty aggressive. To be honest, I'm happy with the route I've taken since I can use spacers to dial in more or less stance depending on how willing I am to deal with rubbing...

That's why I want the 30's. It's aggressive enough without going too much and I end up hating the rims. If I want more spacers are always an option.

Well, I wasn't clear on what your goals were, I guess...when you asked about fitment I assumed you wanted as aggressive as possible without having to do too much major modification.

Not my cup of tea at all, not even for a show car. I hate rims that are angled like that.

Tyler, would you mind sharing how much you are lowered on that setup? I didn't see it in here and without going through your whole progress thread to find it, I figured I would ask. I think I am looking for a similar drop as yours.

in the famous words of Nike and Justin......JUST DO IT lol

You wont find out until its on the car and looking at it dead on

I am still contemplating if I want to do spacers as I have no gap and 18x8.5 et 45 with 245/40 tire....I was thinking 10 in the front 15 in the rear but I truly don't want to roll (camber is 0 in front -1.5 in rear) ....so just decide on the look you want and go for it...I mean you have really good advice in this thread besides Shark who keeps stating a random number of 26 LOL

I agree +30 offset is good start too bad they dont make the rare Aspecs in that size ahh

BUT Do it so I can see for myself...PLease and Thank You ha xD

^ it's not a random number of 26. thats an offset choice he had for the wheels he wants and if it were me, i'd go 26 instead of 30.

i'm running 25 so i know how they look in regards to fender fitment.

either way, like everyone has stated 100 times...a little 5mm spacer will do the trick. i just don't want to run spacers unless i have to.

+26 seems to aggressive, plus, you're on a 9" rim, I'm on 8.5".

exactly. my wheel is wider and a lower offset and it's flush. no poke.

you're getting a higher offset and a smaller wheel. sunk.

Oh well I like Tyler's stance, that's why I went with +30, his rims are exactly the same size.

Here's the spacer on my S10, custom made by my dad, it's about the thickness of a coke can.

What are 235/35/19 all around on 19 x 8.5" + 38 all around going to look like? sunken in too much? I don't like the staggered look but would like to be close to flush but slightly inside the fenders to avoid rolling

thanks

I'm wondering the same thing. I have the same size going on my car. However I ordered 15mm spacers bringing the offset down to +23 and was planning on doing about a 2 inch drop give or take. I already rolled my fenders, but I am now concerned with the 235 tires that I will still rub (more so in the front than the rear) because it may poke to far. Anyone have any insight into this?

it all depends on your camber, you may clear just fine. I ran 225 on a 9" wheel this time around and i've got plenty of clearance.

I have a camber kit for the rear so I'm not even worried about that. Mostly the front especially with the tab inside the fender. I can see in the near future buying a front camber kit if it rubs, OR if it doesn't look bad leave the spacers off and just use them with the stock rims if +38 doesn't look bad, OR buy 5mm spacers and run them. 10mm spacers would have been the ideal application for me, but since you can't throw them on like the 5mm and it's not safe to run V2 10mm spacers, there was no way I'm felt like going through the hassle of putting extended studs in.

I ran 19 x 8 with + 32 all the way around a few years ago and 19 x 8.5 + 38 should have the same outer position but with 12 mm less inner clearance.. Would + 38 8.5 clear front Brembo

I think 2 factors come into play when trying to clear the brembo brakes, 1-what kind of rims you choose and 2-what offset they are. I don't think just offset alone can determine what will clear the brembo brakes because a lot of the fitment depends on the design of the rim, but then again I'm no expert on this as I don't even know if what I am putting on my is going to not rub, lol.

^^^that's true, that's actually the wildcard I'm not familiar with, because a spoked wheel that's +45 will work fine, but a wheel with a fat lip will not.

About the camber, I wasn't asking you in reference to correcting, was asking because you'd have more clearance with negative camber. I'd recommend you get that 19MM deep and thin walled socket and call it a day and make the 20's work. Harbor freight or amazon for cheap impact grade stuff.

I only have 15mm spacers and most likely I will make them work. I know negative camber will help the fitment in the front, but without the camber kit I'm kinda stuck with whatever negative camber I get from lowering the car since it isn't adjustable on our cars without one. I also planned on running the damper pretty soft to keep a close to stock ride, but this may now change as well depending on how much I rub, if at all. I guess I'll find out soon enough once everything goes on.

well, keep us posted. I've found that in this game, what works for one, might not work for another. ONLY way is to throw sht on, make adjustments and work your way to aggressive.

Sorry, I'm a little late to this discussion, but I have some reference pictures in case anyone is still interested.

-front - 18x8+38
-rear - 18x9+38

No spacers:

15mm front spacer, 20mm rear spacer:

Keep in mind that I'm way lower in the 2nd pic, so the camber is a bit deceiving. If I did not have spacers being as low as I am now, it would look a lot more sunk compared to the top pic with the suspension higher up. My front wheels are still not completely flush, a 20mm spacer would be perfect.

So basically I'm at 18x8+23 (F) and 18x9+18 (R). You should have no problems running a 18x8.5+25.
