4G TL Rims on a 3G?

Will the 4G rims fit on a 3G TL? What about other OEM Acura rims? Like the 2g TSX A-spec or the RL A-specs?

4G rims do not fit on the 3G TL - different bolt pattern. Apparently, the new bolt pattern matches the RL.

Can the bolt pattern be altered by a tire & wheel shop?

Interesting, my friend who is into really nice cars (SL Black Series-CLS AMG) says his wheel guy could "alter" a set of 2009 TL rims to fit my 2006 for $150 set of 4. How do you think he could achieve this?

well if you're friend is right, then why did you ask if they can be altered to begin with? you just answered your own question.

dont know how it can be done, but correct me if i'm wrong.

yeah its possible, converting a 5x120 to 5x114.3 is not a problem. I got one wheel that was plugged and redrilled. because I didnt want to wait 3 months for that one wheel to come in. Been almost a year, and no issues, which means i doubt it will have any issues whatsoever

My guess is he'd have to change out the hub, etc. to do this. Sounds time consuming.

Tom, there are adapters that you can buy or have made that convert bolt patterns from 5x114.3 to 5x120 or 5x112 or whatever...having them custom-made is generally the safer route

...many people have done it. IIRC, an AZine member did it to get Audi RS4 rims to fit on his TL

Are there any other rims (Acura OEM), other than the 3G A-specs that will fit that the 3G? I am just trying to see my options and I want to stay factory.

Thanks guys for all the replies.

There you go then. If someone manages to pull this off, please post up the pictures. Those "Diamond Cut" 19's for the 4G are cool, IMO.

There's another way to do it, using wobble nut. Personally I wouldn't do it though.

http://www.whitea4.com/audi/variablebolt.html or Google for wobble nut.

Yes those are the rims that I want! The whole reason actually I started this thread. I was at the dealership picking up my all-season mats and I seen 4G TL next to a A-Spec 3G TL and I thought to myself they would look perfect on a 3G.

As far as Acura OEM wheels, the A-Specs are pretty much the only alternative to the stock 17's (or the Type-S 17's...which look like giant Eggo waffles in my opinion). However, there are some very nice aftermarket alternatives.

Thanks everyone for their input, if I get these 09 rims I will give it a try and post pictures.
BTW, I have been instructed to remove the avatar of my wife from my profile as it violates forum policy ...you have until I get home later tonight to enjoy it.

You can run adapters that change the lug pattern, but issue is that they are thick and in turn will push your wheels out.

My recommendation, find a shop that has experience plugging and redrilling if you're really serious about it

I agree I am not really feeling the Type-S wheels, actually think A-Spec look a lot better. I would want to go aftermarket but my experiences with them have been bad, except one brand, which is BBS but I don't really feel like dropping that kind of coin.

I custom fitted rims that were meant for a Benz on my BMW, it was expensive and they were hard to sell later. I doubt I want to go through that again. I was hoping that the 4G's would have been plug and play but since they are not, probably going a different route.

Not really liking the Type-S rims and I can't justify buying the base as they are the same size rims.

Thanks though.

Tell ya what. Since you have to change your avatar and keep pics of your 'wife' all to yourself, feel free to post them up in this thread:https://acurazine.com/forums/lewd-non-nude-306/pretty-girl-thread-372205/

OP- sorry for the hijack.
