3rd Gen TL Type S wheels

I'm new to this forum and compliment all of you on the info that you provide to members of the community.

Can somebody please tell me why so many tl type s owners dislike the type s wheels?

the rims are hated because of their style in pictures. Alot of the pictures make the rim look ugly, but in person they start to grow on you. now i don't mind them, but when the TLS first debuted, I almost puked looking at those rims.

i almost didn't get a type-s cuz of the rims/red lighting but they slowly grow on you. with a drop/clean the type-s rims really fit the car nicely.i think they also look better on lighter color cars due to the dark finish.def gotta keep them clean though because they look like pure sh*t when they're dirty.....

Agree with others: In promo pics and representations, they make the car look bad due to the color. In real life the color is much better - a shiny blue/gray gunmetal.

The other thing is the spoke design. In pictures, at some angles it looks like a cohesive design. From other angles it looks like a waffle-weave; more disorganized and therefore unattractive.

They do grow on you though. That said, if had to do it all over again, I'd get the 18" "Black Chrome" A-Spec wheels as the OE wheel.

At first I didn't like them that much but they definitely look better on white TL-S rather than the dark colored ones. I'm getting the Black Chrome A-Spec wheels on friday but after looking at some other TL's I'm having second thoughts. I'll probably end up getting the chromes put on by Acura then putting the OE's back on and selling the black chromes.... ah well

3G Type-S rims are definitely UGLY, imo! That's coming from someone who owns one. But, dropping the car does make the rims a bit more palatable. However, I will definitely go for aftermarket wheels as soon as I am able.

With a 1" drop they look good

With the A-Spec body kit and Eibach Pro springs they look pretty good

I didn't care much for them at first, but they've been growing on me. I can live with them on.

I wasn't too fond at first but they did grow on me. I was still determined to upgrade to 19s, which I just did. I like it much better now.

I get alot of complements on these rims. I didn't care for them much either but I actually like them. They go good with the carbon bronze.

I agree.
Im always approached by people on the streets who ask me if I still have the stock TLS wheels and if I wanna sell them.
Apparently alot of people like them minus those here on Azine.

I don't like the way they look on most colors other than CBP. I didn't take the time to get used to mine. I had them replaced at the dealership before I drove the car off the lot and sold them in the Black Market.

They match the CBP nicely, but for me they almost always look dirty.

I think they had to come up with a design that would look good in that darker color so that they wouldn't show the Brembo brake dust as much.

Arie (4dr 6MT accord) bought my TL-S wheels. Here is some photo's of how they look on his accord. It gives me a new perspective on these wheels. I couldn't stand them on my NBP but on his accord they look great!

An interesting fact is that the TL-S engine cover is a perfect fit too!

C'mon these wheels are nice, when you see them you know instantly that it's a Type-S

Because they look like giant Eggo Waffles attached to your car (and I have seen them plenty in person...they aren't growing on me).

I think they make a sophisticated performance sedan look boy-racerish. I think the type s should have come with 18s....I upgraded to aspecs
