3rd GEN Acura TL brake pads
Hello gang,
I changed my rear brake pads yesterday but I think did what I would call a boo boo unless someone can set me straight. I replaced the pads alright but I think I inversed the pads and the metal sticking out on the rear shim (brake light indicator?) are facing up instead of down. Is this a big deal? Do I need to switch sides?

Actually the pads were installed right (ie, the meat is on the rotors) no problem with that. What I mean is that the inner pad has a metal tongue sticking out and should be facing down. During my installation, I mistakenly put the inner right pad on the left inner causing that metal tongue to be facing upward instead of downward. Is this such a big deal?

as you stated, the prong is there to tell you if and when you're running low on meat.
as long as the prong is in a position to stick out and touch the rotor once the meat has gone, it will do its job
if orientated in a way, where it wont touch the rotor once the meat is gone, then it simply wont tell you when the meat is gone.
as long as you got the meat to face the rotor, nothing is wrong
