I have 19x8.5" and 35 offset and they fit perfectly on 245/35 R19 tires. I posted the pics here: https://acurazine.com/forums/ramblings-12/burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr-123839/.

35 vs 40 offset means 35 offset wheel sits 5 mm further outward than 40 mm offset wheel, given the same wheel width. Read this article on Tirerack.com: http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/tech/...jsp?techid=101

Ok, I always thought it was the other way around. Also, do you rub at all?

You mean, lower the number, the bigger the lip?

I thought that if you had a 45mm offset the wheel itself would be further away from the hub therefore making it stick out away from the car more. It has nothing to do with the lip part.

It doesn't make logical sense, but this is how it works.

Offsets range from about 20-50 mm on most cars.

A 35 mm offset will make the rim sit OUT MORE towards the fender/street than a 45mm offset. in other words it will look wider.

25mm = 1 inch. 12mm = 1/2 inch.
So a 35 mm offset wheel will sit out almost 1/2 inch WIDER than a 45mm offset.

Cool, thanks for all the info. So is it ok to run a 19 on a 35mm offset?

I have heard people run 19x8.5" with 35 offset and were okay. The recommended/factory offset is 45mm. I think 35mm should still work, and will look wider. I wouldn't go lower than 35 offset, it will hit the fender. Make sure you get the proper bolt pattern 5x114.3" and hub size, i believe the hub size is 64.1---i don't remember off-hand, you can run a search. Your tire size would be 245/35-19 or similar.

The centers will actually be hyper black, and the lip will still be chrome. These arent actually released yet, but they will be soon and I will have the first set of 19x8.5's

Is it me, or does this style of rim just seem to FIT the TL? I think these would look sick on a TL. Are you sure those will clear? I was looking for a gunmetal rim in that style that would clear the brembos but couldnt find anything that was "affordable".
