25mm Spacers with Stockies?

Stock 235/45/17 et45mm offset plus 25mm rear spacer making it offset ET20mm overall will rub no doubt when you have any weight or people in the rear. Stick with 15mm front and 20mm rear...
If you have 245/45/17, go with 15mm front/15mm rear to make up the difference.

Hmmm, with 245/45/17 and lowered ~1.5 on H&R's I'm thinking I should go with 15 rear and 10 front. Problem is, I don't think anyone makes a 10mm spacer that bolts to the hub, so I'm guessing I'd need longer studs for the front.

Posted on another thread elsewhere...
Time to add some quick updated photos to this "progress" thread... I utilized spacers on the OEM wheels for a more aggressive stance. I decided to go with 20mm for the front and 25mm for the rear. Unfortunately, this mod is going to require me to roll the rear fenders a bit, so I'm going to hit youtube up for some DIY methods. The car isn't very clean due to the weird spring weather this year in NorCal, but it still showcases nicely.
Next mod, perhaps later this year: Blacked-out headlights with Type-S diffusers.
Yeah... Gonna need to fix that soon. It's only on large dips and bumps that I run into this problem, but it's common enough to happen a couple times a trip.

spacers 25mm
hey guys i have stock 17's on my 05 tl with 245 tires and i lowered the back 1.5 adn the front 1.25 and with 25mm spacers all around my car doesnt rub even with a packed car. Looks sick and clears the wheels gap nicely plus the tires stick out perfectly and make it look like a one bad ass TL easy cheap upgrade. i got the ebay spacers for $75 and they work well dont come lose at all. Enjoy.:thu mbsup:

Won't make a difference is so minor with performance yet i had initial placebo effect believing it handles better once installed . As for wear had them on 20mm x 17mm and had no issues for years. This is cosmetic choice not performance mod if you prefer the stance of the wheels then do it. Only problem was when i got my brakes done. The spacers would not come off, torch, banging, sprays. mechanic couldn't get them off for two days. Finally he had to cut the bearing out to remove it cost me a lot for just for a cosmetic appearance.
If you put spacers on remember to smear anti seize lubricant between the metal otherwise the spacers will lock on to the hub forever. Give it a try maybe needs a alignment after spacers install which i never done. Tire wear never seen any problems. If you don't like them after driving it for 6 months take them off and no harm to the suspension or tires.

Had incident in November after putting on my new Viking contact 7 for the winter. While i was driving along the inside lane 10 cars jammed in traffic while impatient, i turned to the outside lane to avoid the traffic none in front free road only lined up cars on the inside lane . Since all the cars in outside lane had driven off with the red light turned to green, i floored the TL while i was picking up speed none in front of me. Then i heard honking with cars beside me on the inside lane warning me. Suddenly a car appeared out of a driveway which was allowed to enter traffic from some driving allowing them to yield into traffic. I hit the brakes hard, turning the wheels to the middle of the road, to avoid a collision from the car exiting from the driveway.
Luckily the driver yielding into my lane stopped enough not hitting me but my new brakes didn't help avoid almost crash nor the new winter tires. Thought afterwards could it be the wheel spacers didn't give me enough tire traction to stop in time before the car was inching its way in my lane. Could the patch of my tread be out by a inch which causes me to brake further. Don't know the real answer, maybe i was going to fast to stop before the car edged out in my lane. It made me think if the car got closer in middle of my lane i would of smashed right through him instead of maybe stopping before...Yet i turned to avoid any collision but came very close hitting the car near miss.
Never measured stopping distance with spacers and without is there difference maybe but how much? All depends on the tires and tire pressure weight of vehicle full tank of gas etc... Thinking it probably be couple feet at most further distance with spacers then not. Just speculating is it worth the risk for vanity sake? I'm not taking my wheel spacers off but thats me like the look much better.
Only negative i can see is if you change the diameter of the wheel going from stock 17" to 18" or 19" then spacers can throw off the suspension only in braking often get a shimmy from the vibration of soft bushing suspension. Only fix is to get better bushing to stiffen up the suspension to take up the impact less wear in the tires mostly from the front.

Tried searching and this seems to be the best thread for info but I really dont have a solid answer to what Im hoping to find out. Reviving this thread instead pdf starting a new one.
Question I have is I have a A Spec 06 and I assume the A spec suspension. I cannot believe how much the rims sink in. I have access to H&R Drs spaces so the ones that connect to the hunt then the wheel to the spacer. had them on my M3 for the winters etc.. Only issue is they dont have 20m only 15m and 25m. So wondering if stock 18x8 a spec wheels with 245/40/18 winter tires will rub in the rear with 25mm. Im not changing the suspension so will be A spec height what ever that is. Seems like alot of gap.

Isn't that the DRM series not DRS?
DRS Series spacers fit between the wheel and hub, and require exchanging the existing wheel studs for longer ones (included).
DRM Series spacers bolt to the hub with existing wheel studs and special nuts (included). Wheel is bolted to new DRM wheel studs.
