Question 255 tires? any problems?

im getting new tires for my 2007 tl-s and the original size is 235. wondering if i went with 245 or 255 if it would fit on the stock type s rims?

has anyone tried?
and would it cause any problems? any precautions?

A search will afford you reading all day. If you're looking for an all season tire, my opinion is to upgrade to 245/45-17 tires as the 255/40 is too small (diameter-smaller than OE tire) and too wide for the Acura 8" wheel. Let me rephrase that, it's too wide according to the specifications for that tire size, but can be installed on the 8" wheel if one wanted to overlook the tire manufacturer's recommendation. Conversely the 255/45-17 is too tall. If you want a wide tire, look at the Yokohama W4s in 245/45-17. They have the widest tread for the size, and are actually wider than the 255's.

To me the Michelins are in a different class when compared to the W4s, but I would definitely look at the Yokohama Advan S.4. I have the 245/45-17, great all around tire, but has flat spotting in cold weather as do a great many UHP tires that dissapates in a very short period of time.
