255/40/R17 Pics please
Sup Everyone,
Hope you are all doing well. So I am looking for tires for my 2008 Type s . I want to keep the stock type S rims which of course are 17" but was wondering if I could get some input from you all on some other sizes that I could put on with out throwing the speedo to much off. I have heard 255/40/17 dose anyone have any pics they can show of this size tire on there TL. Just would like to see the difference I know it will be wider and side wall will be more of a lower profile but I just want to make sure that its not to wide that its sticking out to much from the fender. With going with the 255/40/R17 I belive this will make the car sit lower a bit right? If thats the case will that close the gap in the wheel well as well? I have not lowered at all still the type S setup but would mind to close the gap up at taid if that tire size would help with that.
Any help would be great as well as if anyone has any pics that they can post of different size tires that they have used with there stock 17" rims.
I am also torn between 2 sets of summer tires right now, looking at the :
Continental ExtremeContact DW
&
Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport
Any feed back on those tires would be great as well.
Thanks again everyone and take care

Yes the car will sit slightly lower as these tires are smaller in diameter, but the wheel to tire gap will widen.
Here is all you can ask for:

Thanks comrade. I know living in the Texas heat right... It fits my needs, I'm not an aggressive corner taker. And its nice to know that when it rains my grip won't be compromised. Can't complain about the lack of road noise and longevity of use too. Trust me I had a helluva hard time trying to decide between the DWS and NT05. Actually wanted the INVO but couldn't find the right size
