if my calculations are correct -
255 is 0.39" wider than 245 but 40 is 0.33" shorter than 45.
so your tires will be 0.39" skinnier than justin's but 0.33 taller

i'D DO 245/40... Here's why... A 245/45 tire will be taller than a 235/45 tire. Dropping to a 245/40 puts the tire closer to the height of the stock size which will also keep you speedo as accurate as it would be stock.

Better do some research. The stock Michelin 235/45-17 is 25.6" tall and most tires 245/45-17 are 25.7" tall, but dropping to a 245/40-17 will yield a tire height of only 24.8", about 1" smaller than stock, or just slightly taller than the height of the A/T compact spare. If you read, the 255/40-17 tire comes in at only 25", therefore a 245/40-17 would definitely need be be smaller than 25".Originally Posted by ParaSurfer1979

Most 245/45-17 are very close to the stock tire diameter (as Turbonut shows) and won't even be close to rubbing with the A-Spec susp kit.
