245/40/19 bad for vsa?
Due to 245/40/19 being 1.5'' taller in overall diameter than stock 235/45/17, i realize the speedometer will be off but will there be any negative effects on the stability control and other functions?

I had 245/40/19 tires and rode on them for about 100 miles and got new 245/35/19 tires cuz they were rubbing bad with my setup.
If you're dropped, i'd recommend you don't get the 40 profile tires. It also made the car feel a lot more sluggish, i guess the 40 profile tire was heavier than the 35 one.

as long as all the tires have the same size, its fine. The VSA system works based on wheel speed inputs, the faster one of the 3 usually is the one skidding...

I was just trying to avoid the massive wheelwell gap/too low-pro look when I have the 19'' rims with the proper 245/35/19's, and was hoping the 40 series would be a quick fix.
A 1.2'' drop or so would be nice and would look proper however this TL is year round driver in winter and I would like to get an atlp jpipe in the future but heard of people having scraping issues sometimes.
I think maybe just some light drop springs (1'' to 1.3''), as long as lowering it gives me no issues on any electronics or exhaust clearance issues and yes I realize a little bit of ground clearance will have to be sacrificed.

you'll gain almost 3/4 of an inch of ground clearance if you run the 245/40-19's. So you're looking at more of a drop than you think to make it look right. Save yourself the trouble and get 235/35's or 245/35's.
