235/35/19 or 245/40/19 - Advice??

I've got a set of Ron Jon Inspyres 19"x8.5" +42 offset. I had a set of 235/35/19 KDW's on there the past few years, but have had issues with bulging and one cracked rim(I live in MN and have no way to avoid EVERY pothole...). I am wondering if:

1. A 245/40/19 would be a better option to help give me a little more meat my rims to prevent future bulges/cracks. It's inevitable that i'll hit a pothole again, so i'd like a little more protection.

2. Would 245/40/19 fit without rubbing? I'm not lowered, so I don't think I'd have any issues, but no website would give me the option when i typed in my vehicle type. I know 235/35/19 is the correct size to keep my spedo even, but i'm not terribly worried about a small difference.

3. Has anyone else had issues with Ron Jon's cracking/bending? If it's a common issue, i'd just assume sell them and pick up a new set.

I absolutely love how the Inspyres look on my TL, and would prefer not to have to sell them, but I don't like dealing with these headaches.

Common issue. I contemplated going 40 series tire.. however you will rub so you'll have to roll fenders or what not.

To me, a 245/40-19 would look rather ridiculous standing @ 26.7" or about an inch larger than the OE Michelins. Although not affording a great amount of additional protection, look at 245/35-19 25.8" with a 93 (1433#) load rating compared to the 235/35-19 25.5” 91 (1356#) rating.

Got to understand that larger the wheel diameter, comes a smaller sidewall and this modification doesn’t come without consequences, similar to other problems that erupt with other mods are made to factory product.

I figured they'd fit since i'm not lowered, but for the extra cost and minimal sidewall gain, not sure it's worth it.

and i understand that with modding comes consequences, just didn't expect to go through this twice within 2 years. damn Minnesota roads

I got 245/35/19 Bridgestones on my TSW Silverstone wheels with 40 or 42 offset, lowered 1.2" H&R springs all the way around. No rubbing or anything.

245/40/19 or 245/35/19! 235's on a 8.5 will look a bit stretched, 245 will look flush with the wheel. I am running 255/40/18 on 18x9 with a 40 offset and I have no problem at all, they are flush with the wheel. I know I am comparing an 18 Vs a 19, but the outside diameter of the tire should be the same. Prior to having the 255's I had 245's on a 9 inch, they looked nice, but a bit stretched, it all depends what you want in the look. I do have my fenders rolled!!
