225/45-18 Tire Size

Will 225 45 18 fit on a 06 TL? Stock size is 235 40 18.

It'll fit but it's a bit narrow. The rim will be more exposed to damage.

Why are you considering getting a taller sidewall? It's going to throw off your speedometer.

I wouldn't do that unless you like the stretched VIP look, cuz 225/45-18 on an 8" wheel will look stretched.

It will fit, but that's an odd tires size to run. Your sidewall will be thicker and throw off your speedometer by 2.234% slower. No it will not look "VIP stretched". It wouldn't even come close to looking stretch.

VIP was a bit extreme, but it will still definitely look stretched... I have a set of 225/45-18 on an 8" wheel in the garage...

going from 225/45 to a 235/40 be minor differences in diameters anyways. it could not looked stretched at all. depends on the brand tire really. i mounted 225/50r17s on 8inch rims & goodyears sat flush while michelins were minor stretched
