215/50/17 winter tires?

Hey guys

I have a 08 TL-S, I recently bought a set of toyo garrit KX winter tires (heard they were really good), got a slightly used set for 500$, but when i got to the shop the guy told me 2 of the tires were 215/50/17 and the other two were standard (235/45/17). He just told me to put the 215/50/17 in the back and i'll be fine. After thinking about it for a bit i'm starting to wonder if thats really a good idea. So i was wondering if you guys could tell me if it's okay to put that size tire on the TL-S. thanks for your input.

Its not the end of the world. Not exactly ideal but its not a big deal. I would put them on the rear too and roll with it. beats dealing with trying to find two more and selling the off size ones.

If he were regularly driving thru lots of snow that hadn't been plowed yet I'd agree with you. but on snow packed roads that are much more common during the winter the wider tires would be better.

But either way - the tires are fine.

I was really debating if i should find 2 new ones and sell the 2 other ones. Thx for the input, helps alot. I actualy live in Montreal where we get pretty big snow storms, and the accumulation of snow tends to stick around for a while
