2007 TL Type-S Wheels - Help Needed
I have a bent wheel on my '07 TL Type-S that had an attempted repair that did not work. So, I bought a new wheel from one of the local Acura dealers. My wheel is the silver 10-spoke that resembles a spiderweb. My problem is that the wheel only was available in one color, which is a dark silver or gunmetal color. This does not match the color of my current wheels, but both local dealers confirmed the color situation. However, I have been told that the wheels fade out over time.
So, can anyone confirm this? Has anyone replaced a wheel with the same situation and has it faded out to match the rest?
Thanks!

From what I can tell within the Acura parts catalog, there is only one part number for wheels for my VIN, 42700-SEP-A61. This is also the part number that I purchased. The more I look I think there might only be one shade for this wheel and I might have to deal with the color variation. The vibration was getting to bad to ignore anymore.
yes its only one part number.
but as others have found out on this forum, that there is a different shade.
there are several threads about this same subject.
i think it has something to do with how they painted them.
maybe one batch came out lighter than the other.

But there are (at least) two shades of paint. My guess is two different paint suppiers (or possibly, but not likely) wheel suppliers. Or, just different batches of paint. Who knows, maybe some pigment or another was changed or had to be replaced. Maybe the prep, metal or primer was changed. Could be a thousand reasons.
And now you're stuck trying to figure out how to make it work.
Sucks, but that is the bottom line.
