2004 TL tires

I have a 2004 navi with 75k miles. I purchased new, and have loved the car, but I have been burning through tires. I've had 4 sets replaced since new!

I don't think of myself as an overly aggressive driver, but something is evidently going wrong here. My driving is mostly suburban and city in the Pittsburgh area. We do have a lot of pot holes.

Here is what I've tried unsuccessfully;

Hankook Ventus 405
Goodrich Touring
Goodrich Traction T/A

I don't need a super high performance tire, but would like something somewhat sporty.

Also, I want all-season.

Does anybody have suggestions?

I was doing some research and was considering the Bridgeston Potenza G019.

Thanks for your help!

Rachel

have you had the TSB (techical saftey bulletin) applied to your 04 TL for the suspension?

The rear tires wear a lot on the inside and when they are rotated, the front tires now on the rear have the same problem.

Tsb

I don't think I had this work done. I'll have to check with dealership tomorrow.

If the tires are wearing evenly, no problem, but if uneven wear is seen, time for suspension adjustments. Take a look at the Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S, they aren't Z rated, but are a great all around tire, but a bit pricey.

Nope, no alignment issues. I've the front-end aligned each time. My mechanic is perplexed as well. He's encouraged my to research on tirerack.com, but there are so many choices. That's why I thought I'd ask you guys.

The tl tends to be hard on tires like bmw's.... Ive got 40k and have been through 3 sets as well. first two factory sets lasted 7k each with no alignment or toe issues and the tsb was performed and tires warrantied, but still crapped out. The best set ive had is the falkens, they have got about 6k on them and no signs of wear, compared to thes stockers.

The Kumho platium LX. its a W rated tire that they gurantee 60k. I have had them for about 15k now and I am still very pleased.

I am in the same boat as you, I have 96k on mine and I seem to put tires on every 25k or so.

I replaced my stock Michelins with Toyo Versado LXs and am VERY pleased. You might want to check them out.

I have a set of Goodyear Eagle GT,s and these tires wear very quickly! I had to have the two rear tires replaced at 7k and now I need to replace the other two tires at 10k. These are horrable in the snow and ice! The car constantly slides from side to side. I had a four wheel alignment down in the summer. I live in Northern Utah and this car is mostly used for city driving but I also use it on the freeway.
