19" wheel vs. overall performance

I see that most people have 19's on their cars here and they do look sweet but are there any drawbacks when it comes to performance? I've read a couple of posts saying that 19's slowed cars down. Ok but by how much? Is it that noticable? Under what type of driving conditions do u guys notice this the most? Also, what about handling and breaking? Any pros or cons here? I would like to go with bigger wheels but cant justify sacrificing overall performance for looks. I dont mean driving like a maniac every where i go but if the car feels sluggish or doesn't break as good or feels twichy in the corners then then i'd reather not do it. Anyway, any feed back would be great. Thanx.

It all depends on what kind of wheels you go with.

My 19s actually weigh 4 pounds less than the 18s I had before since they're forged vs. cast, so my performance actually got better.

You should also have better handling with 19s, since the sidewall is shorter (less flex).
