Post 18x8 with a 44 offset, will it work??

From reading some of these posts, it seems like they might rub, and I am not rolling the fenders on my new car. I found a sweet deal on a used set of 18x8 3 piece Heidfelds with a 44 offset. But I dont think they will fit, but wanted reassurance from you guys who know your rims. Adam and others what do you think??

Also the rims are without tires, so I cant test fit them first

I'd have to go with a pretty firm no... +44 is pretty low! Maybe if you rolled the fenders. =Z

i had those exact wheels on my previous car, 2000 accord coupe and i had shaved the lips (just half) to make it work (i was especially low too...1 finger gap). it shouldn't be a problem if you don't lower but it will become one if you have a full load. shaving the lips is no bigger especially if you are getting a great deal on some wheels!

I have 18x8 with a +50 offset and they are perfect. No rubbing at all. +44 might be a problem.

There is a picture in my gallery that shows the car from the side angle. You can see there.

Because the widht of the rim is high, it may get risky if you go that low. Check out he layouts. O is the centerline and x is the mounting surface. If you line up the x's you can see how the offset would affect mounting. It's definitely tettering on the border. Can't you mount them and see first?

<----Street -----Strut--->

7.5-44 Offset

8-44 Offset
|----"----"-x--"----O----"----"----"----|

8-50 Offset

For reference.

It's worth the wait and money to get the right offset.
