18's or 19's for my TL?

Hey guys, New Noob posting.... so be gentle.

So after having my TL for the last 6 years bone stock and because in getting a divorce from a wicked woman I've be trying to get rid of for the last, I dont know how many months, I decided to mod my ride. Need to enjoy my youth before hitting that mid life crisis..... I'm pretty damm close.

Anyways, I'm getting some type s rear tail lights, side markers, cleared headlights and probably get a rear lip spoiler too, just to start off. So my question is which size rims should I get, 18's or 19's. I want to lower my ride just a little bit, maybe about a inch or less and I dont really want to deal with rubbing or have trouble turning. Any suggestions will be appreciated. thanks in advance.

BTW. I really want 19's so if you know of any problems with getting them please tell.

18s or 19s with a drop will look sexy.

As usual potholes are your biggest enemy. Lost 2 tires off my new set of 4 this year and im riding stock rims.

Thanks Italiano, after looking at other peepz rides I think I will at least get a 1.5 inch drop. Maybe H&R or Tien......... Like I said before I'm a noob, so bare with me until I get the hang of it. I've had this account since 05 but never got around to use it. Also, I've try to use the search button, but didn't get the results I was looking for. Anyone got any linky's? Thanks in advance.

I think these are good starting points:

Between 18" and 19" wheels, don't ask me.
After 6 years w a stock TL hope you have a good savings account. Welcome, good luck and prepare your wallet!

Thanks Chapu..... So i decided to get some 19's. I said F'it, might as well spend some money and make my ride look proper... Thinking of getting some Work vsxx 19x8.5 and 9.5 with the gold face. I know everyone has these but they look sick as hell. Anyone got any used ones for sale?..... also looking to get a Aspec kit.

Give more info from your ride and/or pictures, if you decide to go with 19" you will need to spend some $$ on a new suspension. Just remember to take a bunch of pictures of the TL and send it to you ex, just to let her know how well your are taking care of your "new love", j/k. Take care.

You can't go wrong with either really, it depends on what style of rims you plan on putting on your ride. That can either break it or make it nice.

i have 19's right now, but going to go back to 18's very soon. i love the ride comfort of 18's and how it makes my car look more low/sleek.
