18" C2 with 235/40/18

hi guys, sorry to put the C2 topic again. anyway, my friend gonna sell me these rims (18x7.5 +42offset w/ pirelli P7000 235/40/18) for $800 & i believe it's a pretty good deal, right? i'm not lower my car yet. so, will 235/40/18 fit &/or should i need to cut the fender? &, do i need to put the wheel spacers both in the front & rear? if so, how thick the wheel spacers should be? thanks guys & any info would be appreciated!:p

With +42 offset, you'll rub for sure, if and when you lower it. Trimming the rear tab is a must. You might need the wheel spacers up front to clear the calipers, I think?

i got 18x7.5s with a 42 offset on 225/40 tires, and i rubbed slightly (still kinda do at times). it's lowered on eibach prokits and i ended up trimming that notorious bumper "tab". so if you got 235s, it would rub...what kind of car did it come off? and spacers only make matters worse by lowering the offset. as for caliper clearance, i haven't heard if this setup will touch the calipers or not.

If he's a friend, he should let you try before you buy.

it came off fm my friend's 99 maxima. as for the caliper clearance, i believe it's too close to the calipers in the front. so, i think it's better off to put a spacer in the front.

My wheels are 18x7.5 and I have 135/40's on. They've always been on when the car was lowered (with H&R Sports), so I am not sure about non-lowered. My wheels are a +48, and I had to trim the rear tabs. 99% sure you will rub if you lower it at all.
I'm not sure about the C2 quality, but maybe you could have a shop shave off 5 mil, making them a +47?

I heard some Racing Hart wheels (Evoloution) are not made in Japan.

Hey Stan... If you had 19"inch RH C2's EVOs would you still need spacers to prevent hitting of the brake caliper? I'm planning on buying the C2's really soon so your input would be great. Thanks.

there was a recent socal meet a couple of months ago, and a guy with abp tl-s had the 19" 1-pc wheels...and according to some friends that went, he did not use a spacer! that's kinda hard to believe since i had the same wheels on the same car (2002 model for me) and those touched the front calipers. the wheels are 7.5" wide and the offset is a 44. putting in a spacer will effectively lower the offset by said spacer thickness, thus making rubbing a concern (ie, a 2mm spacer will make this setup identical to my current one...7.5" wide rim and a 42 offset). i think all you need is a very thin spacer, but the original specs are kind of on the low end of the range so tire choice will be key if you want these wheels. 235/35 tires are the closest to stock rolling diameter, but i had chunky dayton 235/35 tires (bridgestone made i believe) and i'm sure it would have rubbed (car was not lowered at the time and i did not drive on the tires because i knew i was going to return them). tire brands do make a difference with rubbing and i probably would go with 225/35 tires just in case (plus it is supposedly the preferred tire width for that rim width if mfr suggestions are important to you). if you can, see if the shop will mount some tires and test fit it on your car. it was $2100 for my setup.
