Post 17x7+45 w/ 225/50-17 w/ H&R SS

Interested in MAS Itali Axle (http://www.maswheels.com/axel.html) wheel size 17x7 with +45 offset. Tire will be size 225/50-17. I have H&R Sport springs and am wondering if this wheel/tire package will give me problems. From my calculations, it should work.
Also, has anybody heard anything about the MAS brand of wheels?
Thanks
Ryan

Sounds pretty good to me. I dont think anyone on here has that size tire but thats what i would go with. If you do decide on this setup i would like to know how it works out so post pics.

-Rz- 225/50-17 is closer to oem diameter than 225/45-17

I am looking at the exact same size wheel/tire setup, except I don't have aftermarket springs on my car so I would also like to know how it turns out if you get them.

Called MAS and they said that the AXLE is only avialable in an 17"x7.5" and that the +45 offset is only available in chrome until May when a new batch will come from Italy. So, I guess I'll have to wait till May to get the high gloss silver 17"x7.5" +45 Axles

SimplyEasy, I think you should reconsider. I have the same springs (H&R OEM Sport)and same size wheels (17x7) and tires (225/50). The only difference is that my wheels have a 48mm offset. I had to trim the rear fenderwell plastic and roll the rear fenderwell lip on both sides. The front is no problem. The 45mm offset will probably work but you'll have to roll your fenderwell lip on both sides a little more. If you want to go wider, do a little more measuring. I'm pretty sure 235/45 and even 245/45 tires will fit but you'll need at least a 7 1/2" wide wheel, preferably 8". Offset should be at least 54mm. It should clear on the outside but I'm not sure about the inside clearance.

I am getting 225/50/17's on my CL-S wheels when I get them in a few weeks.... I am reluctant to get that size because i don't know if there would be any rubbing with my springs and height etcetc... My friend has a tire shop, he's gonna mount a 225/50/17 on one of the rims for me and we're gonna mount it to see the clearance issues..
FYI, there are very few companies that make the tire in that size... I'm probably going with Nitto NT450's

What offset would be right for a 17" wheel? Most of the 17x7 wheels that I see are a 42 offset. I think I would go for 225/45/17, the diameter is not off by that much.

Shoofin'TL, as I've said I have 17x7 with 48mm offset and mine rubbed. If you go with 48mm or less AND this size tire be prepared to do some work on your rear fender. I didn't mind cutting and rolling the fenders but I really wanted to go with 245/45x17 tires which is even closer to the stock diameter but of course, much wider. The only problem is the 7.5" to 8" wheels with high offsets are expensive modular wheels. They look great but take much, much longer to clean and I've had my share of cleaning 3 piece wheels!

Shoofin'TL, in another post you said your CL-S are on it's way. I'm assuming you're going with the 225/50 tires? Since these wheels are the 17x7 with 55mm offset it would be interesting to see how much clearance you have on the inside. You shouldn't have ANY problems with rubbing at all, inside or out! But knowing how much clearance you have on the inside will verify that 245/45 tires will fit!

This is true, but 225/50/17 is even better matched to the OD of the stock wheel/tire.

My car is in for service right now by Park Ave Acura.. I mentioned to them I'm getting CL-S wheels, and was wondering how the 215/50/17's would fit on the TL, how much room I have etcetc(with my lowered suspension) The dealership too was wondering why Acura Specifies(many many times and emphasis) not to put CL-S wheels on a TL. Park ave wants to know why, so they are mounting a set of CL-S wheels and tires(stock size)from their demo CL-S on my TL to understand why Acura says not to put them on..So they can figure out if Acura is smoking something, or there really is a problem with putting those wheels on... This will also tell me how much room there is to put 225's on as well..I am then going to take my CLS wheels and mount 1 with a 225/50/17 compliments of my friend who owns a tire shop and put it on my car to see how it is.. If they don't fit, i'll stick with 215/50's or 225/45's..
