17" XXR 527 Rims

I am looking at the 17"s, since I just threw on brand new Falkens on my 07-08 17" Base rims; which I plan to put on these. Would they look right/good?

Well first off, the first link is the wrong lug pattern so forget those. Other than that the second link looks good, the size is right for the tires you already own (assuming anyways), but I would try to find them with the more aggressive +25 offset.

Help?

Yes, that would be the setup you'd want.

17's will be too small but thats just my opinion, you can just add a couple of more dollars & get the 18s.

I think the design of that rim (spokes getting thinner further away from the center) makes it look smaller than it is. Even the 18's look small. 17's will more than likely look too small on your car.

Agreed. I just can't really get the 18's, because I got 17" tires. Would these look a little bigger/better?

I like the design of of the XXR's wheels, but I really feel like you need an aggressive offset and size, and drop to pull these off. Have you considered maybe buying a set of coils with that money you were going to spend on the wheels, or maybe getting an aspec?

I say this because there is a good chance your car is going to look off with aftermarket wheels in the size your trying to buy.

There is a better chance of your car looking a crap ton better with an A-spec kit, or a nice drop..

why do you care to replace your wheels?

I do plan to get A-Spec later. TL-S rims are 17's and they look good. Those ones I just posted above look almost the exact same.

Any other opinions on why TL-S wheels look good and these would not?...

There are, but people always want too much for them. PS, I think those look better than TL-S wheels. Why is everyone against the XXRs? Lol. So it's okay to spend ~$800 for used 17" TL-S wheels, but not those beautiful 530s for $500 that look better? I don't understand.

I dont think any one is against XXR in this thread. Basically, they are saying that you trying to get 17"s in these aftermarket wheels will not look good and I agree.

I have yet to see 17" aftermarket wheels that look decent on a 3G TL other than stock wheels.......if you was to go with a 17" aggressive setup I'd say maybe....but even still you will eventually notice 18" would be better and won't compromise ride quality.....

I really like those xxr 530's. Very nice looking wheel. I do think they'd look better in 18's but if your set on 17's then get them! It's your car get what you like.

18's will def look better man. it's not that i WANT 17's, but it's that I just bought brand new 17" tires. So I am stuck with them I guess...
My buddy says it's only one inch smaller and with a slight drop it will look good

I'm sure they'll look better with a drop. Another option would be to spend the money elsewhere on your car or save it and change your rim size when you need new tires also.

Buy HT Spec coils and dump your car on your factory wheels, or buy an A spec

dont be cheap by trying to use your current tires and do it right the 1st time, then what r u gonna do with ur current wheels? sell them? buy another set of tires for them? having to keep unmounting the tires between the rims every season? too much of a hassle.. just have 2 sets of wheels. Save up for 18in tires and get 18in version of the wheels. In the end u wont slap urself in the forehead saying you wish you got the 18s instead 1in makes a difference.

again, im not against your choice of wheels. They look good but looks better in 18

tough call bro, im glad you're going with 18. Both look very nice. Though with the color you're getting, im for the 527. Its just something with dark colored mesh design rims that i dont really like..

Yes, I'm glad you guys saved me from getting 17. Gotta love AZ. Tires Plus is returning my 17" tires

I'm leaning towards the 527 as well. What ones are the right ones? Best offset etc...

Glad to hear your going with 18's. I was considering the 521s when I was shopping for rims, but decided not to get them because they take more time to clean. However, if that's not a problem with you, I recommend going with a lighter color, so you can see the detail in the mesh section of the rim.

I got the 527s and love them. I went with +35 offset because I want to put wider tires for more traction. The +20 offset looks sick, but be aware that you increase the risk of bending a rim or curb damage. That's my . Good luck and post some pictures of your final choice on your car.

mainly the width of the rims. 8.75in vs 9.75in. At a glance you wont notice a difference. I guess it just comes down to bragging rights? idunno lol few dollars more. I believe the 9.75 will give you a more concave look compared to the 8.75. XXR 527 owners should chime in, i know theres couple of u on here

Good luck on those rims but if i were u i would save more money and get better rims later down the road like Enkei or Work CR-Kai their all decent price and much more reliable then those XXR's but its up to you

Are you going with the +20 or +35 Offset?

With the +35 Offset & 8.75W there is only a slight concave to it. It fits perfectly with 225, 235, or 245 wide tires, however, sidewall % with 245 will have an affect on clearence if your car is lowered. The 9.75 should still clear, but you may need to roll your fenders.

Nice concave! With the +20 Offset and either 8.75 or 9.75 you will need to at least roll your fenders, if you are lowered. I've read that the recommended tire width is 225. However, I'm not sure if 9.75W may be a bit too much.

It's up to you and the look you are going for. Also, consider if you use your TL as a DD and condition of the roads in your area. Good Luck.

9.75 @ 20offset will most likely require u to run negative camber + rolled fenders depending how low you go I'm not sure if u want to go through all that.. 8.75 will be best and safest setup if you dont wanna go through the trouble.

Here my mine for example: the rear is 9.5 38+ on 235/40/18. Very close to flush, might throw in a 5mm spacer later on to see. I guess u can use that as a reference.

sooo even with 8.75/20 offset, 225 tires, i have to roll my fenders? i never knew getting rims would be so damn confusing. im about to just give up

i dont want to go through all that, but wouldnt 225s look weird? 235 is perfect. idk what to do anymore. how much would rolling fenders run?

depends how low u go, dont let all these post confuse u and steer u away from getting the wheels. All of the sizes mentioned above will work, its just how low you're willing to go that will determine rolling fenders/ neg. camber etc

since you dont wanna go through all the fender rolling etc. go for the 18x8.75 20 offset with 225/40/18's 235/40/18 will work with the 8.75 rims, just that the 225 have just a tad of stretch look thats all.

this is how low i want to be, when i do lower it later on: http://img830.imageshack.us/img830/7...729564ee1b.jpg

it says those are 225, but look wider than that/look perfect. also, does he have spacers?
