I'm looking to get some snow tires on the TL and I was just wondering if there are ANY 16 inch wheels that can fit over the '04 6mt Brembos on the market???

While on this subject, which 17" or 18" wheels fit over the Brembos? If you're researching rims, what dimensions are relevant for figuring this out?

 

basically it's about the design of the back of the spokes. real japanese wheel mfrs usually include a spec for caliper clearance. they call it the disk type...high, medium, low, super low.

all you have to do is to take off a wheel and measure the following
- the distance between the hub/rotor to the outside plane of the caliper
- the diameter from the hub to the point on the caliper with it sticks out the most

with these two values in hand, you should be able to figure out what works.

just make a L-shaped tool that you can carry around. you should also note the overall diameter from the hub center to the furthest point on the caliper...this is to prevent hitting the rim cylinder.

That's a good pic, and a good idea with the little carboard cutout. Hmm... that looks like there's gonna be footwork involved, running around town with the little carboard thingy. It's difficult to shop for wheels online because of the brake clearance issue, not too many spec sheets specify enough data.
