07 TL S Road Noise?
Ok is it just me or is the road noise kind of loud from the stock tires on the TL? I wasnt sure if its the tires or what but the road noise on the freeway seems to be really loud! Is this something I can cure by getting some new tires? Any input would be appreciated!

I've always thought the TL, both base and S had a lot of roadnoise for a car in this class. When me and a friend were car shopping, we drove an IS350 with standard suspension and it was quieter than my TL. When we drove the one with the sport suspension, it was at least as loud as the TL if not louder. I *think* they use relatively stiff bushings in the suspension that transmit road noise.

So its normal then? I didnt know if it would help if I got new tires. I have 9k on my Type S and have the stock tires on so I was thinking new tires might help. But if new tires wont do the trick then I guess I just gotta deal with it.

I've got a TL type S. Always suspected that the stock Michelins were the weak link. Yes, mine were noisey but lots of M&S rated tires are. Put on the A-Spec suspension on 12/27/08. Last weekend (about 3 weeks after the suspension upgrade) I had my A-spec wheels installed. 18x8". Tires are Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus. Quieter, and much better overall. Check the tirerack.com reviews. The OEM tires are pretty weak in most all areas except tread life.
Time for an upgrade. There's no substitute for good tires.

Forgot to mention. I had 10,500 miles on the stock tires when they came off the car.
The new ones are quieter in the rain that the stockies were on the same pavement when dry.
