06 MT A-spec and Comptech RSB
Has any body done this upgrade, I'm sure someone has but the search engine is difficult to pinpoint much needed opinions.
So, if you have a MT, A-spec suspension, and did the RSB upgrade tell me about your ride. I drive on one rough freeway for about 10 miles in the morning and don't think I want stiffer, but I do want that floating feeling on high speed corners and low speed body roll to go away. I just don't want to have my discs replaced in my back before age 50.

i have a 5AT with just a comptech RSB and the ride is fantastic. The RSB will get rid of the body roll and not affect anything else. As for the A-spec, go ahead with it as is sill be slightly stiffer, but it will get rid of the floatyness and torque steer. BTW, how many years are left until 50? that may help us to get you a better setup

Have a 05 6MT and installed the CT RSB about a year ago and I love it. You will not have a rougher ride. The sway bar will reduce body roll and you will notice that the front end will not plow as much under hard cornering. I also just installed the Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings about a week ago and the ride is just as comfortable. You will not be disappointed.

I like that elimination of torque steer, but the 5AT has a much smaller RSB than the 6MT, will it really change my ride at all. I just want to tighten a bit with very little change in ride quality, cuz I need to commute for 17 more years, while having fun on the way to work. So anybody who has done this modification with this car let me know your opinion!

I have a 05 6MT with the A-spec kit and installed the CT RSB about a year ago and I love improvement the sway bar adds. Ride quality is exactly the same IMO. Just added the Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings about a week ago as well. You will not be disappointed...

The 6MT has a factory sway bar of 20mm, the 5AT has a 17mm. THe 07 Type S is 20mm. The CT RSB is 22mm.
I loved what it did for my 5MT.

I have the A-Spec suspension and the Comptech RSB. I think it significantly helped the cars ride. It reduced roll, dive, and float. It is a little harsher, but IMO worth the small sacrifice for the better handling. I would do it again. One other bad thing about the suspension, I scrape the front lower spoiler alot.

I wouldn't say it's nonsense, but true. I got mine from Las Vegas Acura. Them and AoE on ebay IS the only one's selling the suspension separately from the rims. At least that was the way 2 months ago.

The 18" wheels probably also contribute to the harsher ride.

I have this set up(with 18"x8.5" wheels) and it's been great. I was concerned about the A-Spec suspension being bouncier and stiffer than stock. I have a lower back problem, Spondylolisthesis. This is where the lowest vertebrae slips forward and can cause lower back pain. With non-stock suspensions, I was really concerned about a jarring ride that will have my lower back flare up after a ride in the car. With A-Spec suspension, the ride is actually pretty smooth. To me, it feels smoother than stock shocks/springs, definitely less bouncy. With the Comptech sway bar, cornering is improved and there is much less body roll. I do not believe the sway bar makes the ride any stiffer at all. If you want to keep your stock ride but want better cornering, just try the sway bar first. You will notice an improvement. I'm glad I went with the A-Spec suspension, I'm very happy with it. If the A-Spec set up bothered my back, I would have taken it out. My back does not suffer at all. Hope this helps.

^^ Hey, I have this problem as well. So much that L5 and S1 are know fused. The Aspec ride doesn't bother me at all. The Aspec suspension mainly takes the BOUNCE out of the stock suspension.

If you have a 6 SPD it would be retarded to but the RSB the stock is 20 MM the comptech is 22MM no big difference the AT is much smaller so you would see a much smaller difference in you MT

Diameter isn't everything. The diameter can easily be measured, but the hardness/stiffness of the steel will also make a huge difference, Also and is not easily measured without proper inspection tools.

i belive that the RSB from comptech is made with a very good quality steel that is powercoated to resist corrosion. The stock one i belive i hollow and made of powercoated steel.

^^^ You are correct the OEM RSB is hollow. I just happen to have mine sitting on the floor behind me. I tap it with a silver dollar, it's hollow.
