Exclamation '06-'08 16" Civic steel wheels not fitting!

A couple of months ago, I bought 06-08 16x6.5 +46 5x114 civic steel wheels for use as my winter wheels as I remember seeing that someone posted that 06-08 civic wheels worked for auto TLs.

Today, I took them to an AAA auto care center and they told me that the steel wheels were not clearing the brakes. Apparently, they'll just barely clear with the car on the lift, but rub while the car is settled on the ground.

What can I do? It seems the wheel specs are similar to 02-04 RSX 16" alloy wheels that I know people have used on their auto TLs, so I thought nothing of it. Is the 6.5" not wide enough? Is my only option to go with 16x7.5 on tirerack?

Will other Honda 16" wheels all be the same?

In all seriousness get rid of those rims. This car isn't a Ford Fiesta and you shouldn't be running something that small to begin with. Find some stock rims to put on there, for your own safety.

Here's a good start.

Isn't January a bit late to be putting a winter setup on?

I know RSX wheels will work and I even think someone has run RAV4 wheels before.

The wheels either fit over the brakes or they dont. On or off the ground clearance shouldnt change.

i put RSX wheels on my previous 07 CGP navi base...no spacers required at all. fit perfectly...although i didnt like the look even though it was only for winter and switched them out to stock 17s.

i can only assume that civic wheels of that size would also fit a base..because I slapped on the RSX wheels that I had onto my wife's civic and the fit was perfect as well.

DEFINITELY WOULD NOT FIT TYPE-S or ANY models with Brembo brakes.
