Balance the wheels on a Hunter Road force then turn it 180 degrees and check, if perfect great, but if off, either the center bore is compromised or the machine is out of calibration. They can always use the lug adapter to do the balance rather than the cone for the center, then you’d know it was centered.

Just one slightly bent wheel can cause a vibration.
|
^ I was thinking bent wheels too.
|
Is the vibration felt in the steering wheel or the seat?
|
vibration is on the steering wheel
|
I would be certainly think that a bent or distorted wheel would be seen at time of balancing, but if it wasn't I'd never go back to that shop.

If the vibration is still in the stereeing wheel then its something else. |
Get someone to switch wheels with you temporarily if the vibration is there could be the car.....bad axles would do it.....
|
im switching wheels today with my friend ill let ya know what happen
|
those wheels look hot on there
|
what type of fog lights are u have on?
|
If i'm not mistaken, you have to use the factory lug nuts with those wheels, my friend put them on on hi 06 maxima with after market lug nuts and one of the wheels came off

have you recently swapped out you axles? if not i would check them and if you have or need some axles, ONLY buy the OEM axles....aftermarket axles arent balanced.....my recent problem so thought i would share.

Good Luck :)
Seems like everybody has given you all the advice you need. I hope you figure out the problem soon :) |
bent wheel
balance issues cup/bubble in tire if you sense vibration while braking wrapped rotors |
how are your motor mounts? prob not even from the change in rims/tires
|
what tire size and how many psi are you running on each?
check for uneven tire ware, inner/outer. I had exact same problem. Check out my thread : https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-tires-wheels-suspension-97/tire-sidewall-defect-858242/ |
Your problem is the G37 wheels are lug centric. Your problem would be solved by using the stock g37 lugs, but unfortunately you cannot because nissan uses a 12x1.25 stud and honda uses a 12x1.50. I have a set of these wheels lying around as well and tried with little luck to get the vibration gone. The closest nut I found was a Mitsubishi spec, yet it is still a bit shy of what you need. I gave up on my attempt, but please update if you come up with a creative way to use these vibration free.

Here is some information that I learn the hard way. (Rooki mistake)
I also have G37 wheels and the seller game some lug nuts with the wheels. I have added hub centric spacer (8mm to clear Brembo calipers) and hub centric rings and all good. So 3 weeks ago I decided to get some newer lug nuts for the car and I order some OEM G37 (big mistake). The thread on the Acura TL is M12x1.50 and the thread on G37 is M12x1.25 and they use Mag shape lug nuts. Now I have to replace all the wheel studs on my car. =( I did some research and I look back into the purchase of the wheels and the seller mention that he had Toyota Camry lug nuts on his TL and that does were the lug nuts that he had given me at the purchase. I hope this information helps you out. Best of luck. V/r Melvin Hdz |
^^ So whats the end result? Did you end up fixing the vibrations?
|
makes wanna get some G37 wheels. because they look damn good on a TL!!
|
I use to have them and Discount Tire provided the lugs and they worked perfect. I have them somewhere if someone wants them.
Once you fix the hub-ring... you shouldn't have a problem whatsoever. I ran mine for months without vibrations until I hit a big pothole which ended up causing a bent. |
so what type of lug nut worked? and what year? and what size hubcentric ring?
