Ye Olde P4030 OBD2 code
Folks,
a bit of background..
Have an 04 TL, MT with 140K miles
About 3 weeks ago the front center spark plug decided it no longer wanted to be a part of my vehicle and ejected itself at a high enough velocity to obliterate the coil over pack on its way! I had changed the plugs 40K Miles earlier, perhaps not properly torqued? Who knows.
Thanks to Time-Sert, I was able to repair the plug hole with the head on, very happy with the repair, and assume it will outlast the rest of the car. Bought a new coil over and was on my way.....
HOWEVER!!!!
A week after repair the car threw a CEL and there was a crapload of codes, like everything is misfiring and the world is ending. No suprise, I drove a mile sans a plug.
Cleared code and about a week later it threw another CEL. This time a sole P4030 (Bank 2) emissions threshold code.
QUESTION - I am guessing that a bunch of unburned fuel was sucked down the exhaust and has potentially mucked up an O2 sensor or the CAT or?
Whatcha think guys? I cleared the CEL and will keep watching with the hope it resolves itself (HA!). Do I need to replace parts?
Thanks, Chris
