I have been having this same issue. I had the tires balanced 2 times, checked for bent rims, and had an alignment done. I have read about the control arm bushing, but haven't replaced them because I feel like it mush be something rotating since it starts around 50 and seems to get less severe the faster I go. Leaning toward replacing axles, but don't want to just throw parts at it trying to fix it. Like you I am getting frustrated and annoyed by this problem.

On a side note, I had 19" wheels and ISC coil overs on the car over the summer and the car didn't have near as much vibration. Switched back to stock last weekend and had the alignment done and wheels balanced and noticed this vibration problem. That is why I had wheels rebalanced and another shop that also checked wheels for any bends. The first shop had told me I had a bent wheel, second shop said I did not have a bent wheel, but tires were balanced incorrectly. I also noticed this vibration before I put the coilovers and wheels on which is what lead me to believe it was in the stock wheels and tires.

I really have not idea where to go from here, nothing seems to make sense.

I have the same issue and its really annoying. I changed my tires, rims, control arm bushings, balancing tires, and alignment. I've heard a lot about replacing axles and that's probably my next step.

Could you tires be out of round.
Balance won't fix that.

ive had vibration right at 58mph-63mph and then it stopped.
replaced my axles and problem solves. My axles were not physically damaged nor appeared to have ever been replaced.
rotated my tires and when that didnt fix the problem, i replaced my axles.

...but its always good practice to check all suspension components before replacing any suspect parts!

I believe I'm having the same issue you. I have an 04 6-speed and my car shakes at 60-65 mph only. Anything lower or higher than 65, my car feels fine. My mechanic thinks it could be the engine mount or axles. I'll post an update once I find time to replace the axles. Let me know if you're able to fix the problem.

sucks to think that an axle that isnt leaking from the boot can make vibrations. feels like replacing a part before its needed

Nope, same issue. My vibration is right at 40mph though and nowhere else. Axles are nearly brand new, tires brand new and road force balanced, no rim bends, suspension bushings are good, new motor mounts, aligned. Who knows what the issue is.

Axles. I've pushed the car to 140 with no vibration at all. Its not a 3g thing. I'f you've done all you can with the wheelies and tires its the axles.

1. put front of car up on jackstands- make sure wheels are pointed straight
2. set parking brake a chock rear wheels
3. get under car and spin each wheel by hand
4. watch edge of rim, if it moves even the slightest, you got a bent rim

3rd gen rims are Jell-O, my Acura dealer has told me that those rims bend even easier than the 2nd gen ones do

5. while spinning wheel check axles for any odd movement

I've found, for whatever reason, on some, the 3G is a bear to get balanced properly, e.g. my '04 way back in '07 when I purchased new tires. I had to finally resort to having the shop NOT use the cone in the center hole, but the adapter that bolts to the stud holes.

Next time the wheel assembly is on the balancer, after it's been spun, weights applied, then spun and the machine indicates perfect balance as zero weights needed, loosen cone and turn the wheel 180 degrees on the shaft and rebalance. If the assembly is perfect, it will show as no weight needed, but if there is a needed weight showing, there is something wrong with the wheel center.

Also a lot of tires have a dot where the tire is to be aligned with the valve stem. Most places ignore it.

Glad I ran into this thread, axles will definitely be looked into if suspension checks out fine after tomorrow's inspection.

Mine started to vibrate over 45mph. Ended up the back rear brake was starting to seize and was rubbing. Check your brakes after driving and see if the rear brakes are the same temp.
