Wiring Harness Failure, Smoke in 2006 TL
Wiring Harness Failure, Smoke in 2006 TL
We own a 2006 TL , we have had it 10 months a little over 10,000 miles in the last week we have had the fan motor quit blowing, we took it into Fresno Acura, they had the car a few days and gave it back stating the fan resitors caused the wiring harness for the fan motor assemby to burn up, They replaced harness and resistors, less than 60 miles later(3 days ) It did it again and this time we got smoke from under the dash and from the vents. Very concerned with this new of a car to have this problem. not to mention the safety aspect. What should I do next, there is more wrong than just resistors. What should I expect from the Dealer and Acura. Please give me your thoughts!
They didn't replace the fan motor?
It seems illogical that the resistors would cause the wires to burn up.
More likely is the fan motor shorted, causing excessive current, causing the wires and resistors to get too hot.
Sounds like they fixed the symptom, not the cause.
Good Luck!!
