Windshield wipers

Hello. I have a 2004 TL. Great car. I got it used. Are the wipers supposed to automatically turn on when I squirt the washer fluid?

When I squirt the windshield cleaner, the wipers do not turn on. I am used to the wipers turning on automatically when the cleaner is on the windshield.

Make sure the wiper mirror and power steering hose recalls were performed on your car. If not, get them done.

Pulling and holding the wiper stalk should activate the sprayer and then wipers for at least 2 sweeps.

Some of the older cars do that lol. You have to manually turn on the wipers after spraying the fluid.

How long have you held down the stalk to squirt the fluid? if you tap it, it will not move the wipers. Try holding it down longer?
